About this project

What does Raise & Resurrection & Ascend add?

Raise & Resurrection & Ascend

Give players one server-authoritative downed state before final death.

RRA keeps the downed lifecycle narrow: native totems, healing recovery, teammate totem rescue, and final death with the original cause.

How it works

  1. Native death protection runs first. A held Totem of Undying can save the initial lethal hit normally.
  2. Without protection, lethal damage leaves the player at 1 health, starts a one-minute absorption clock, and forces the crawling presentation.
  3. Damage consumes the same absorption clock. Healing to min(max health, 20) revives the player.
  4. If the clock expires or follow-up damage finishes it, the original downing source re-enters Minecraft's native damage and death-protection pipeline. A held totem can therefore protect this final boundary too.
  5. Another player can right-click the downed player with a vanilla Totem of Undying. One totem is consumed unless the helper is in Creative mode; the recipient receives Minecraft's native totem activation, effects, advancement/stat trigger, game event, and animation.
  6. The downed player may hold G for 2 seconds to give up. The client reports only key transitions; the server counts all 40 ticks and dispatches the original downing cause through native totem protection.

The original damage type, entity UUID/dimension references, source position, and immutable death message persist across reconnects and server restarts. RRA never substitutes a later finishing hit as the final death cause. Invalid legacy state with no verifiable cause is safely cleared instead of inventing a cause.

Downed and death announcements respect showDeathMessages and vanilla team visibility.

Scope

RRA does not implement food feeding, drink transfer, special apples, or administrator revival commands.

For a broader cooperative setup, consider pairing it with:

  • Let Your Friend Eating or another friend-feeding mod;
  • Let Your Friend Drink for native drink-item completion on the recipient (Minecraft 1.21.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2 on Fabric or NeoForge);
  • an Always Eat / No Hunger style mod so healing foods remain usable when hunger would normally block eating.

These are recommendations, not dependencies.

Supported versions

Minecraft Fabric NeoForge Java
1.21.1 21
26.1.2 25
26.2 25

Requirements

  • Install the matching RRA JAR on both client and server.
  • Fabric builds require Fabric API.
  • No gameplay mod is required.
