About this project

What does True Darkness Biomes add?

Fork to 1.20.1+

This is an unofficial Fork of the Original True Darkness Mod by GrondagTheBarbarian.
The Original Mod can be found here: https://modrinth.com/mod/true-darkness

This was made because the other Fork for Forge 1.20.1 was not Open Source, otherwise this wouldve probably been a Mixin Mod and not a complete Fork.

If you dont need the Biome Support and dont need a Version above 1.20.1 and dont care about Open Source you should probably pick the other Fork found here because im quite inexperienced with Minecraft Modding and their Version is likely to be better: https://modrinth.com/mod/true-darkness-forge-updated-fork

Future Updates above 1.20.1 will only be on Neoforge

Biome Support

This Mod allows you to define biomes in which there should be no True Darkness, or if you so desire invert the behavior and define which biomes should have exlusively True Darkness.

Specifiy which Biomes you dont want to have True Darkness applied

This mod largely came to be from the "incompatiblity" between True Darkness and AlexsCaves, especially the Primordial Caves, which otherwise would be completely dark. However you can also add other biomes like the lush caves to the exclusion list.

Add your Own Biomes

The Mod allows any kind of biome to be added so long as they conform to minecrafts standard biome naming. Simply add the biomes to the "darkness-biomes.json" which should generate after the first time you open a world.

This is how a simple config would look:

{"Biomes":["minecraft:lush_caves","alexscaves:primordial_caves"]}
