About this project

What does CropXP add?

CropXP

CropXP is a lightweight, vanilla-friendly mod that makes farming more rewarding by granting experience when you harvest fully grown crops.

By default, mature crops award 1–3 XP with a 100% chance, while almost every part of the system can be configured.

Features

  • 🌾 Earn XP from harvesting fully grown crops
  • 🖱️ Supports both breaking and right-click harvesting
  • ⚙️ Configurable XP minimum, maximum, and reward chance
  • 🌱 Automatically detects compatible vanilla and modded crops
  • 🔧 Per-crop XP and chance overrides
  • 🎮 Optional XP rewards for Creative players
  • 🌐 Server-authoritative configuration for multiplayer

Why CropXP?

Vanilla farming provides food and resources but very little direct experience.

CropXP adds a small, configurable reward that makes farming more worthwhile without turning crops into an overpowered XP source.

The goal is simple: make farming feel more rewarding without changing how Minecraft farming works.

Configuration

CropXP works out of the box and can be customized through its configuration.

In multiplayer, configuration is controlled by the server through:

config/cropxp.json

Compatibility

  • Loaders: Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge
  • Singleplayer: Configuration can be changed through the config screen
  • Multiplayer: Server-controlled configuration
  • Modded crops: Supports compatible crops through automatic detection and manual configuration
  • Designed for vanilla-style gameplay, lightweight modpacks, and larger modded setups
