About this project

What does CustomGive add?

CustomGive is a client-side Fabric mod for Creative-mode players who already have an item's NBT or data components copied as SNBT. It reads the clipboard when you run /customgive and sends one item stack through Minecraft's normal Creative inventory action. Your server still decides whether that action is allowed.

/customgive
/customgive minecraft:diamond_sword
/customgive diamond 2

The first command makes a stone item, keeping the original behavior. The other forms let you choose an item and amount. CustomGive puts the result in an empty inventory slot and will not replace an item you already have. It reports a malformed compound, an unknown item, an oversized stack, or a full inventory in chat.

Copy an item NBT compound for Minecraft 1.20.1–1.20.4. For Minecraft 1.20.5 and newer, copy a data-components compound such as {"minecraft:custom_data":{example:1b}}. Use {} when you want an unchanged item. The clipboard text is read locally; the mod does not send it to a separate service.

Install the file for your exact Minecraft version on the client, along with Fabric Loader and Fabric API. The new release files are version-specific because Minecraft changed item metadata in 1.20.5. A server-side installation is unnecessary. See the README for examples and compatibility checks.
