CRYPTID - Fear the dark

They infested your world, and live in the earth. Listen for the heartbeats, check your radio, and don't stare.

Unique horror mod revolving around a doom like aesthetic and creepy ambience. Fight the demons, uncover deep secrets, and fear the dark

HOW TO INSTALL:

Some mod loaders and launchers don't load datapacks or resourcepacks properly.
If using the regular modrinth install method doesn't work, go back to the vanilla launcher and place the datapack in the world/datapacks folder, and use the resourcepack

A: Set graphics to fabulous

Q: Resourcepack doesn't work!
A: Check outdated drivers, or incompatible mods. Anything that adds shader effects or changes the graphics pipeline will probably break it, unless there is a compatability mod

Q: How do I stop dying?
A: Pay attention to advancements and hidden messages for tricks on how to play better. Trust me, it gets much easier after the 2nd or 3rd run. (or join the discord!)

Basic info:

• The resourcepack is required! Download from the link at the top of the page
• Sodium, Optifine, etc do NOT WORK! Uses core shaders for obj models and screen effects.
• Entities each have unique AI and griefing potential. Expect massive corruption damage!
• All events and cryptids are based on your world harmony. Stay away from the heartbeats and entities, and less events will spawn. Charge at them, and suffer the consequences. Refer to the radio for more details
• Events are 3x more common at night
• Datapack is untested in multiplayer or with other mods, try at your own risk!
• Challenge charm is irreversible. You are meant to survive as long as possible, my record is 25 minutes.
• This datapack has limited lives! Players start out with 5, and regenerate lives based on how good your harmony level is
• This datapack is somewhat resource-intensive. Not recommended to play on a massive server.
  Some features are rushed/scuffed but will be improved in the future! Feel free to contribute your own fixes or models or suggestions!
