Colorflow
Colorflow is a client-side Fabric mod that lets you pick any color and instantly find the 9 closest Minecraft blocks using Delta-E 2000 color matching. Includes RGB sliders, HEX input, a visual gradient generator, and one-click hotbar fill.
Quick answer
Which Colorflow release should I use?
Colorflow 2.5.4+mc1.21.10 targets 1.21.9, 1.21.10 with Fabric. It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Colorflow required on the client, server, or both?
It must be installed on the client. Do not install it on the dedicated server.
This file is marked client-only.
What else does Colorflow 2.5.4+mc1.21.10 need?
2.5.4+mc1.21.10. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.
Before you install it
Add Colorflow without breaking your instance.

About this project
What does Colorflow add?
Colorflow — the in-game colour picker for Minecraft
Thank you very much for Elfi for the project icon!
Stop guessing. Pick a colour, get the nine closest real Minecraft blocks, and build a smooth, pixel-perfect gradient — all without leaving the game.
Colorflow is a lightweight, fully client-side mod that turns Minecraft into a professional-grade colour-matching and gradient tool. It uses the scientific CIEDE2000 (ΔE 2000) colour-difference formula — the same standard used by painters, designers and print workflows — to rank every block in your game (vanilla and modded) against any colour you want.
Why builders love it
- 9 closest blocks for any colour, ranked by true ΔE 2000 perceptual distance (not a naive RGB guess).
- One-click gradients — pick a start and end block, and Colorflow generates a smooth 3 to 9 step gradient using real block icons and an ideal interpolated colour ramp.
- ΔE quality score — an “Average deviation ΔE” badge tells you exactly how close the gradient is, with a colour-coded rating (green ≤ 2, amber ≤ 10, red beyond).
- Fill your hotbar in one click — push the generated block stack straight into your hotbar (creative mode).
- Exact block IDs — copy the full list, or grab any block’s ID, hex, or name instantly.
- Eyedropper — sample the exact colour of the block you’re looking at and match it immediately.

Match tab — the colour engine
A Photoshop-style HSB picker: a saturation/value square, a full hue spectrum, RGB channel sliders and a live hex field. As you move, the nine closest blocks update in real time with their block icon, ID, shape and a ΔE 2000 score.
- Left-click a match → get the block.
- Shift+click → copy the block ID.
- Right-click → set it as the gradient start.
- Filters: Full blocks only, Vanilla only, Hide tinted (grass/leaves/biome-coloured) — so you always get buildable results.
- Clipboard: copy / paste hex (#RRGGBB) from anywhere.
Gradient tab — smooth block ramps
- Block browser with live text search (try “terracotta”, “concrete”, “wool”…).
- Set Start and End blocks, choose 3 to 9 steps, and see a live preview with real block icons plus the ideal colour ramp underneath.
- The Average deviation ΔE value measures how faithful the gradient is to the true colour interpolation.
- Fill hotbar, Copy list (block IDs), and Swap ends — all one click.
Quick start
- Install the jar for your Minecraft version (one jar per version — no guessing).
- Press the Colorflow key (default:
C— change it in Controls > Key Binds). - Pick a colour, click a block, and build.
Requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API. No server-side mod needed — works in singleplayer and on any server where you have client mods allowed.
