About this project
What does Not Enough Buttons add?
Not Enough Buttons
Tired of typing the same commands over and over while playing on a server? Meet Not Enough Buttons! This lightweight client-side mod turns the chat screen into a customizable command panel: place buttons on a grid, organize them into tabs, and send any message or command with a single click.
Features
One-click commands
Open the chat and click a button: the text or command is sent instantly and the chat closes. No more retyping /home, /spawn or long server commands, especially when every second counts. The chat input stays focused, so you can still start typing right away.
Tabs
Keep your buttons organized by topic: building, trading, teleports, minigames and more.
- Tabs sit at the top of the screen, and each tab has its own set of buttons
- Add, rename, delete and drag tabs to reorder them
- Arrows appear when tabs don't fit the screen width
- Optional: always open the first tab, or hide the tab bar outside edit mode
Icons
Make buttons recognizable at a glance:
- Any item by its ID, with an autocomplete list that searches both IDs and item names in your game language
- Player heads by nickname or UUID, with suggestions for players currently online
- A built-in set of classic MHF heads: mobs, blocks, arrows and signs
- Icon only mode for compact buttons, with the label shown as a tooltip
Edit mode
Toggle edit mode with the button next to the chat input:
- Click an empty cell to create a button
- Click a button to change its label, command or icon
- Drag and drop buttons to move them, or drop one onto another to swap them
Customization
- Grid size from 6×9 up to 16×24
- Button styles: Default, Frame, Flat or None
- Button color and opacity, plus label color
Details
- Client-side only: works on any server, nothing to install server-side
- Settings and buttons are saved to JSON files in the config folder and persist across restarts and sessions
- Translated into English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese and Chinese (Simplified)
- Available for Fabric and NeoForge
Requirements
- Fabric API (Fabric only)
- Mod Menu is optional, for opening settings from the mod list
