About this project

What does Custom Capes add?

Custom Capes

Make your own cape, wear it, and see everyone else's. Capes, hats, wings, pets, trails, and you can design and model all of it.

  • Upload pictures or animated GIF, up to 2048x1024

  • Cape Painter: paint a cape right in game, with ten tools, fine detail, glow paint and animation frames

  • Cape Creator: crop any image into a cape, no editing program needed

  • Banner Cape: turn any banner into a cape, including patterns from other mods

  • Shapes: classic, tattered, pointed, short, royal or tassels

  • Glowing capes that light up in the dark, plus an optional enchantment shimmer

  • State capes that change when you sneak, sprint, fly, swim or are low on health

  • Music capes that pulse to jukeboxes and note blocks

  • Built-in wavey capes with real physics: they flow when you run, blow in the wind and droop in the rain

  • They get wet when you swim, drip, and dry off

  • They catch fire when you burn, smoulder in the Nether and sparkle in the End

  • Works with elytra

  • Hats, scarves, wings, tails, pets and flight trails

  • Build them yourself in the in-game model editor, with mirror painting, undo and templates

  • Animate them with up to 16 frames

  • Pets follow you around, on your shoulder, above your head or behind you

  • Flight trails where you choose what they look like and when, how many and how they move

  • Import your own models from Blockbench or MagicaVoxel

  • Everyone with the mod sees each other's capes and cosmetics

  • Browse community creations by Popular, New, Trending or Seasonal

  • Like your favourites and follow creators

  • Top creators leaderboard and Cape of the Week

  • Look at a player and press V for "What cape is that?", then like it or wear it

  • Client-side only, so no server mod is needed. Other players need the mod to see your cape.

  • Available for Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge, on Minecraft 1.20 – 1.20.6, 1.21 – 1.21.11 and 26.1 – 26.3

  • Auto Translates into 24 languages

  • Wavey capes are built in, so you don't need the WaveyCapes mod. Using both can stop cosmetics from showing.

  • Everything shared is reviewed, and the upload rules keep it friendly.
