About this project

What does Apiary add?

Apiary

Discord

Apiary is a small quality-of-life mod that makes harvesting honeycombs from bee nests and beehives less of a hassle.

Right-click a full bee nest or beehive with shears and the honeycombs get pulled straight into your inventory, with a little magnetic particle effect as they go. No more chasing dropped items around on the ground.

Features

  • Magnetic honeycomb collection: honeycombs fly into your inventory instead of dropping on the ground
  • Double helix particle trails: a spiral golden trail connects the block to you as you harvest
  • Night and moon bonuses: harvesting at night gives +1 honeycomb, full moons give double
  • Weather bonuses: rain gives +1 honeycomb and calms the bees on its own, no campfire needed (deserts excluded, since it doesn't rain there)
  • Snow biome bonus: harvesting during snowfall in snowy biomes gives +1 honeycomb, with snowflake particles
  • Flower bonus: keep 3+ flowers within 5 blocks of your hive for +1 honeycomb and heart particles
  • Lucky drop: 1% chance of a bonus honey bottle, with a small firework to celebrate
  • Thunderstorm effects: electric spark particles during storms
  • Campfire and soul campfire support: both calm bees the normal way, with a cozy smoke ring effect
  • Dynamic audio: shear sounds get slight pitch variation, and bonus harvests play an XP sound
  • Vanilla honey bottles: collection works exactly as it always has
  • Vanilla bee behavior preserved: bees still get angry if you harvest without rain or a campfire, same as usual
  • Lightweight: no real overhead, no changes to core gameplay
  • Multi-version support: works on Minecraft 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11 (single JAR), plus 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2 (separate JAR) and 26.2
