About this project

What does Death Swap add?

DESCRIPTION

This my version of the deathswap minigame created by SethBling and popularized by dream! In this minigame, players swap positions with each other every 5 minutes (configurable), and must use this mechannic to kill the others by environmental damage, by jumping into lava right before a swap for example. You only get to know when a swap is about to happen 5 seconds prior, so you must react quickly! (again, this is configurable)

INSTALLATION / SETUP GUIDE

  1. Generate a new world, or use an existing one.
  2. Place the downloaded ZIP file in your world's datapacks folder:
    world/datapacks
    Alternatively, place the datapack in the appropriate datapacks directory on your server.
  3. Run /reload to load the datapack.
  4. (Optional) Run /function deathswap:config to customize the settings.
  5. Run /function deathswap:start to begin playing!

The settings with their default values are given below:

Setting Default Value Description
Permanent Water Buckets true (1) Whether players receive permanent water buckets.
Permanent Fire Resistance false (0) Whether players receive permanent fire resistance.
Max Death Count 5 Maximum number of deaths before a player is eliminated and placed in spectator mode.
Allow Nether false (0) Whether the Nether dimension is enabled.
Visible Timer true (1) Whether the time remaining until the next swap is displayed in the action bar.
Coal Ore Drops OP Loot false (0) Whether coal ore drops OP loot.
Swap Time 300 Time between swaps, in seconds (5 minutes by default).

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

  • This datapack supports any number of players starting from v2.0 and upto 8 in old versions
  • Starting from v2.0, you can adjust the time between swaps directly through the configuration menu, however this is not an option in older versions
  • You can end a game at any time with /function deathswap:stop and start a new one with /function deathswap:start.
