About this project

What does Entity Spawn Toggle add?

Entity Spawn Toggle lets server admins block spawning for creatures from other mods, without needing that mod to have its own config support.

Target an entire mod's roster at once, or a single specific creature/variant — your choice.

Commands (require the controlserver privilege):

  • /getentitycode — shows the code of the entity you're currently looking at
  • /entitytoggle <moddomain> <true/false> — enable/disable all spawning for every creature from a mod
  • /entitytoggle <moddomain>:<entitycode> <true/false> — enable/disable spawning for one specific creature
  • /listdisabledentities — lists everything currently disabled
  • /entitylogging <true/false> — logs a console warning any time a watched creature spawns, to verify the block is working
  • /clearspawned — despawns already-existing creatures matching your disabled list (loaded chunks only)

Toggle changes require a server restart to take effect; /clearspawned works immediately. Settings are saved in ModConfig/entityspawntoggle.json.

Note: this only prevents new natural spawning (worldgen and runtime) — it doesn't touch existing creatures/eggs unless you also run /clearspawned.
