About this project

What does WWServerUtilities add?

Server Utilities brings kits, homes, teleport requests, public warps and monthly market plot rentals together with custom interfaces for players and server admins.

For Vintage Story 1.22.7. Required on both the server and clients. Our custom UI framework is included. no VSUX Framework or separate framework mod required.

Kits and starter supplies

Create kits directly from your hotbar or carried inventory. Arrange the items, run the capture command and the mod saves a copy, preserving item attributes and durability.

Kits can be free or cost rusty gears. Each kit can have a cooldown, a one-time claim limit or a privilege requirement.

Create a kit named starter to give new players a starting loadout. Free starter kits are delivered once per player when they join the world. Paid starter kits require a manual claim.

Four paid kits are included:

  • Copper Smith - 40 gears: copper anvil, 10 copper ingots and copper hammer.

  • Copper Tools - 20 gears: copper pickaxe, felling axe, shovel and falx.

  • Bronze Smith - 80 gears: tin bronze anvil, 10 tin bronze ingots and tin bronze hammer.

  • Iron Tools - 120 gears: iron pickaxe, felling axe, shovel and falx.

Included kits are repeatable with no cooldown by default. Admins can adjust their settings. Players need enough inventory space to receive the complete kit.

Player commands: /kits, /kit <name> and /starterkit.

Homes and teleport requests

Save named homes and request teleports to other players. Server owners can configure home limits, teleport delays and cooldowns. Moving or taking damage cancels a pending teleport by default.

  • /sethome [name] - Save or update a home.

  • /home [name] - Teleport home.

  • /homes - List your homes.

  • /delhome <name> - Delete a home.

  • /tpa <player> - Request a teleport to another player.

  • /tpaccept or /tpdeny - Answer a request.

  • /tpatoggle - Enable or disable incoming requests.

  • /tpcancel - Cancel a request or pending teleport.

  • /spawn - Travel to the public spawn destination.

  • /warps - List public warps.

  • /warp <name> - Travel to a public warp.

  • /back - Return to your position before the last successful teleport through this mod.

/back does not return you to your death location.

Random teleport

/rtp searches for a safe surface destination at least 1,000 blocks from your starting position and within 500 blocks of a registered structure.

Vanilla structures and modded structures registered with the game’s world generation system are supported. The search checks for suitable ground and room for the player. If no suitable destination is found within its search limits, it ends without applying a cooldown.

Player market and monthly rentals

Build a market where players rent protected plots using rusty gears.

Players can browse properties through a land-agent NPC or open /market from anywhere. Buying a deed reserves a plot; redeeming it starts the rental contract.

Contracts run for real calendar months, including offline time. Renewals are paid manually, and early renewal preserves remaining rental time.

When a contract expires, access freezes while buildings and items remain in place. Players have a seven-day renewal grace period before an admin can review and release the plot. Plots are never automatically demolished or resold.

The custom market interface includes:

  • Search by plot name or ID.

  • Filters for available plots and your own properties.

  • Properties ordered by distance.

  • Shop names that active renters and admins can change.

  • Contract details and purchase confirmations.

  • Private location previews.

Walking into a plot displays its name and rental status. Find this plot shows a private arrow and boundary markers for 30 seconds without placing blocks or changing the world.

The market handles land rental and protection. Selling goods uses direct trading or a separate shop mod.

Visitor access

Active renters can open their plot to visitors while keeping building and breaking restricted.

Stand inside your plot and use:

  • /market visitors on - Let everyone use containers and interactive blocks.

  • /market visitors off - Make the plot private again.

  • /market visitors status - Check the current setting.

You can also specify the permanent plot ID: /market visitors on <plot ID>.

Only the active renter can change visitor access. The setting saves across restarts. Public access stops when the lease expires and resumes after renewal if still enabled. Released plots and new rentals start private.

Market building and protection

Admins can select two corners around prepared ground, choose plot sizes, path width and monthly rent, then preview the layout before building.

The builder supports areas up to 512 × 512 blocks and creates medium fertility grass plots, granite outlines, connected stone paths and numbered plots.

Prepare flat ground with clear space above it first. The builder does not flatten hills or remove buildings.

Admins can also create plots individually, rename or renumber their display names, and delete available plots without removing their blocks.

Protected public areas allow players to walk through, open doors and use containers while preventing building, breaking and theft-command use. Public containers remain accessible to everyone. This protection does not disable combat or other survival mechanics.

Setting /spawn only sets the teleport destination. It does not protect the surrounding area or change the game’s respawn location.

Trader theft

/steal lets players attempt to take an eligible item stack or block from a trader’s claim.

The default success chance is 75%. Failed attempts cause the trader to attack the thief.

Admins can configure the success chance, attempt delay, cooldown and allowed targets. Theft only works on approved trader-owned targets and does not bypass player claims or protected spawn and market areas.

Administration

Open the general admin interface with .suadmin or .supanel. Use a period at the start; /suadmin opens the text dashboard instead.

Use /marketadmin for market setup. Administrative actions require the game’s controlserver privilege and are checked by the server.

Useful setup commands:

  • /kitadmin create <name> hotbar - Capture a kit from your hotbar.

  • /kitadmin create <name> inventory - Capture a kit from carried inventory.

  • /kitadmin update <name> hotbar - Replace a kit’s contents.

  • /kitadmin price <name> <gears> - Set its price per claim.

  • /suadmin setspawn - Set the public spawn teleport destination.

  • /suadmin setwarp <name> - Create a public warp.

Settings are stored in ModConfig/serverutilities.json. Kits, homes and rental records are saved with the world.

Use /serverhelp for the command overview. Core utility commands also have /su alternatives, such as /su home, when another mod uses the short command.

Installation and updates

  1. Stop the server and back up your world.

  2. Replace the old Server Utilities ZIP in the server’s Mods folder with the new version. Leave the ZIP intact.

  3. Install the same version on clients, manually or through the server’s normal mod download process.

  4. Start the server and use .suadmin to begin setup.

Server Utilities includes its own framework. Install only the Server Utilities ZIP for this mod. If you previously installed VSUX solely for Server Utilities, you can remove it. Keep it if another installed mod still requires it.

The optional Server Ranks companion mod adds playtime ranks and admin-granted rewards. With it installed, ranks can determine home limits, teleport cooldowns and access to selected kits.
