About this project
What does Destitute add?
Simple mod which will remove all starting gear from characters, for those hardcore gamers.
- Based on Naked and Afraid by Maamessu Naked (and Afraid) - Vintage Story Mod DB, this is an updated lightweight mod which simply removes all starting gear from characters.
Compatibility
- Made to patch out any and all starting gear/clothes from any classes, no matter what custom classes (as long as its less than 20) have been added. This ensures that there is no need for a compatibility patch for every possible class mod.
- As long as a mod does not touch starting gear, this should work no issues.
When loading a world that contains less then 20 classes you may see errors such as this...
25.1.2025 14:59:52 [Error] Patch 19 (target: game:config/characterclasses.json) in game:patches/nakedclasses.json failed because supplied path /19/gear is invalid: The json path /19/gear was not found. No such element '19' at the root path
This is due to the way the compatibility has been implemented in this mod, if you are generating a world with less than 20 classes you will see errors concerning the difference. In the above example it shows a world which has 19 classes loaded, which mean the 20th class was not found and thus was not modified.
This will have no impact on your worlds or classes in game. If there is not a class for this mod to modify than it has no impact. In other words, if you see these errors, don’t worry about it.
