Default Temperate at default settings is ~47 degrees latitude while default warm is ~30 degrees. This will spawn you ~40 degrees. To check, use the command '/wgen pos latitude' without quotes.
I created this mod because I wanted a middle option between the default temperate start and warm start. Winters that aren't super long or that brutal but can still get below freezing. I was basing it off having a 6 month winter in a temperate start world and basically no winter in a warm start world. Feel free to take the code and tweak it or do whatever, ChatGPT wrote it.
