Canoe Mod: Circuit's Patch

This patch requires the Canoe Mod to be installed also. 

 

This patch is compatible with either VS 1.20.12 and Canoe Mod, OR VS 1.21.x and Canoe Mod 1.21. Be sure to double check the version you use in the Files tab!!

 

This patch changes a few things about the canoe:

• More storage: You can place chests and other storage vessels in all four seats, not just the middle two.
• All seats controllable: You can use the oar to control the canoe from any seat.
• Faster speed: Upped the speed by 50%, to further incentivise crafting. (Added by Canoe Mod 1.21)
• Use Lanterns AND Oil Lamps: You can use a lantern OR an oil lamp on the front now! (OR BOTH! I couldn't figure out how to make them mutually exclusive with just JSON patching, so you CAN place them both, it's just ugly.)

 

I didn't modify the crafting recipe, as IMHO pitch glue isn't hard to make and with the above changes it's worth it :)

 

With the lanterns and oil lamps thing... It was tough to get working, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the offsets for where the two go based on the bounding box. The lantern seems to have a 4 unit offset on the X and Y (seems to match up with how it looks on top of blocks..) so the selection box for it is kinda wonky compared to the oil lamp. Maybe one day if I can figure out the offset thing I will update the patch to make it so the selection boxes for the lamp and lantern don't overlap and look nicer.

 

Speaking of oil lamps, the new oil lamp colors in 1.21.x work just fine as you can see in the above screenshot! :D
