Quick answer
Which [Instruments Addon] ArchComposerMod release should I use?
[Instruments Addon] ArchComposerMod 1.0.0 targets 1.20.12. It must be installed on the client. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. 1 required mod needs a matching file.
Where it goes
Is [Instruments Addon] ArchComposerMod required on the client, server, or both?
It must be installed on the client. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
This release supports both sides, but the source does not require it on the server.
What else does [Instruments Addon] ArchComposerMod 1.0.0 need?
1.0.0. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Instruments first, but 1 required mod has no matching file for this setup. Do not mix loader builds to force a match.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does [Instruments Addon] ArchComposerMod add?
Addon for Instruments mod for Vintage Story allowing players to write and playback ABC song notation written on in-game paper
How To Use [Instrument]
- Write ABC Notation on some parchment
- Put parchment on left most hotbar slot (before any other parchments)
- Use an instrument! Notice you will not be asked to pick a song, instead you will immediately play whatever was on the parchment!
How To Use [ABCMusicBlock]
- Write ABC Notation on some parchment
- Use the parchment on the music block! (no sneak)
- Song data will stay on the music block so its also possible to load a song onto the music block and then be able to repeat it as much as you like.
The mod will attempt to patch all instruments added by any other mods
The mod will attempt to patch all "ItemBook" added by any other mods
The mod will attempt to patch all "text-attribute" items added by any other mods
Q&A:
Q: When you save a parchment song, does it transfer to your abc file in the VS files?
A: songs stay on the paper in game - I do not touch the filesystem at all . This is for security.
Q: What's the purpose of this? Does it just let you share your ABC files with others in-game or something?
A: It allows players to write abc song text onto parchment and then play that song on instruments or musicblock -
It is created with mild RP servers in mind such as Age of Seraph for some musician profession, for economy of buying and selling unique music.
You can edit the parchment and playback live - So long as the parchment is not "saved" and finalised.
I wanted musicians to have ingame some means of song writing...
