About this project
What does Archipelago Client add?
Inside the zip is vintagestory.apworld, which you can double-click to install to Archipelago if you have the Archipelago launcher installed.
This mod acts as a bridge between Vintage Story and the Archipelago Multiworld Randomizer software. Archipelago allows users to combine many unrelated games' randomizer item pools into a single pool that is then distributed across all games. So, I can play Vintage Story and you can play Zelda. Where you would normally find a Slingshot, you might find a Copper Pickaxe that gets sent over the network to me. Where the Agriculture Trader would normally sell Flax Seeds, I'll be able to purchase your Bow for you. It takes a bit of setup but it's all very rad. https://archipelago.gg/
Use .apip to set the IP of your Archipelago server.
Use .apname to set the Slot name
Use .apport to set the Port.
Use .aplogin to actually connect and get rolling.
Use .appassword to set the Rooms password
Use .aplocations to see what checks you have not completed.
Due to <my own skill issue>, you'll need to completely close the game to disconnect from Archipelago.
Both the Client and Server save config files for your AP info (multiworld.json, {playername}_spoilers.json). You must remember to remove or edit multiworld.json when starting a new game or you'll get broken/odd behavior like items not being delivered. You can also manually set your ip/port in multiworld.json.
Currently, location checks consist of achievements and trader slots. Trader selling inventories have been decimated and replaced by foreign AP items. Their buying inventories are untouched, so farm up some gears and help your friends!
Your ultimate goal is to interact with either an Iron Anvil, obtain a Steel Ingot or complete part of the Story, depending on options. When you do that, all remaining unchecked items will be released to your Archipelago peers.
This mod was designed in such a manner that each player should have their own Archipelago integration. Untested, but you should be able to play on a server together and have separate randomizations.
