About this project

What does Spreading Devastation add?

The Rust has returned.

The surface is progressively devastated by creeping devastation. Walking on it drains temporal stability and corrupted enemies spawn nearby. Ordinary landscapes become vast swathes of devastation as far as the eye can see.

Will you flee? Will you descend underground? Or will you develop your own technologies to fight this nightmarish force?

This mod is extremely customizable, with a huge variety of config options. It is currently not very performant, though I haven't experienced lag spikes with it. You can use /help dv or /devastate help to get started.

A few powerful starting commands:

-/dv help - Run this to understand all commands

-/dv chunk - This will cause a chunk to start spreading devastation and infecting nearby chunks. The main way devastation is meant to be used. This will spread and consume the world.

-/dv add - This will cause a source block to appear that begins creating devastation in an orbit around it. I intend to use this for future magic systems, personalized devastation strains that chase the player, and other eldritch occurrences.

-/dv remove all - This will remove all of the single-source block devastation nodes.

-/dv speed - This will change the speed of everything related to devastation spread. Varies between 0.01 to 100x speed.

-/dv chunk fix - Rarely, a chunk will incorrectly mark itself as fully devastated and remain undevastated while everything around it is infected. This usually happens when it is on the world border. Pointing at the chunk and running this command will restart this devastation across it.

-/dv chunk remove all - Removes all spreading devastation chunks, halting devastation progress across the world.

Check out the config for more options!

Important Note: This mod is in development. Do not add it to a world you don't have a backup for. Right now, the devastation will eat everything!

Temporal storms currently create spreading devastation and there are timed events that can create it as well. Do not add this to non-testing worlds.
