Meteoric Iron Is Beautiful

This mod changes the texture of meteoric iron to resemble real life iron meteorites.

 

The vanilla textures depict a rare type of meteorite called pallasites, the yellow dots are olivine crystals that are embedded in the metal. But the rest of the texture does not look metallic, or meteoric, it looks more like pearl or plastic than iron. This mod changes it to show the iconic Widmanstätten pattern, where the metal forms crystals that intersect at particular angles, because iron meteorites solidify from a molten mixture of iron and nickel over an incredibly long time.

 

v1.3.0 - Removed meteoric iron amulet item. It's now part of the Mineral Jewelry mod, and this mod is now fully client-side.

 

Mod compatibility:

- As a content mod, this should work alongside any other mod and won't break your game.

- Any mod that add their own meteoric iron items (tools, weapons, etc.) and uses the vanilla texture will display the textures from this mod.

- Mods that change or add textures may or may not display the textures from this mod.

PlayerModelLib and Combat Overhaul: minor visual difference in texture compared to the other armors modded by these two mods.

 

Will not change textures from:

AladarCZ's Forgotten Armory mods: won't break your game, but the Forgotten Armory meteoric iron armors will look like the vanilla texture.
