About this project
What does Falling blocks spawn manager add?
This mod limits the number of unstable rock, soil, gravel, and sand blocks falling simultaneously when collapses are enabled.
What benefits does this provide to the player/server?
1) Reduces CPU load during large and frequent collapses by limiting the number of falling blocks. This prevents a drop in server TPS and player FPS.
2) Immediately ends collapses if a player moves too far away from them (usually more than 128 blocks) to avoid server overload from idle entities.
3) Prevents collapses from occurring when loading new chunks, including those caused by generation mods.
4) Prevents collapses caused by non-players beyond 128 blocks from any player.
5) If an unstable block cannot land or there is no space, it will fall to the ground as an item.
The default limit is 200 (500 for 1.22) In the FallingSpawnManagerConfig configuration file you can raise this number for servers.
This mod is essentially an implementation of a PR I made that was rejected by the developers.
