About this project
What does Death Wounds - Barebones Framework add?
What it is
[[Designed for as a barebones framework for modders to flesh out!]]
Death Wounds is a minimal survival injury loop: dying can add stacked penalties on different “lines” (e.g. movement vs hunger), persisted on the player, re-applied on join/respawn, and surfaced in a Character panel. Poultice items cure one random wound in a chosen body region. The implementation is meant as a blueprint—same hooks you’d reuse for curses, diseases, or armor-break systems.
Purpose
- Demonstrate random tier growth on death, stat modifiers with stable IDs, and consumable cures tied to body part.
- Stay independent of trait-buff mods (no shared dependency).
- Keep legacy attribute names where useful so worlds migrated from older combined mods still behave.
For modders (how to use this as a template)
- Add a new
WoundLine+ attribute key + lang keys + optional poultice variant; mirror the pattern in the debuffModSystem. - Tune
EntityStatskeys so they never collide with another mod’s modifier codes. - Fork the client GUI to change layout, colors, or to merge with your own Character extensions.
Flavor
Death leaves a mark that satiety alone won’t fix—until someone mixes the right poultice for the right hurt. The names and numbers here are examples; your lore can go grim, folk-medicine, or clockwork—same skeleton.
