Quick answer
Which Armory release should I use?

Where it goes
Is Armory required on the client, server, or both?
It must be installed on the client. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
This release supports both sides, but the source does not require it on the server.
What else does Armory 2.1.7 need?
2.1.7. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Armory add?
This mod prioritizes reducing anvil bloat by using weapon heads and handles that can craft a wide variety of equipment.
Most recipes of current and future Historical Armory (non-sword) additions will use currently existing vanilla tool/weapon heads.

Blocks
- Subtle Mount: Displays a weapon in a more humble fashion
- Hidden Mount: An invisible weapon mount
Gameplay:
Mechanics:
- Handedness: Some weapons can only be used in two hands, requiring the off-hand slot to be empty
- Minimum Range: Weapons may have a minimum range at which they can attack. This prevents larger weapons from hitting targets that are two close. Displayed in the attack range stat as (Min Range) - (Max Range)
- Note: You can initiate a swing facing away from a target and swing into them to circumvent this restriction, but this will take practice.
- Better Throwables: A throwable item class that functions similar to arrows. Rather than having durability, they have a percent chance to break. This allows for them to stack properly
Base Game Changes:
- Vanilla craftable swords: To further reduce anvil bloat the vanilla falx blades and iron short sword blade have been removed from the smithing anvil. These blades can still be crafted by placing the equivalent blade in the crafting grid and vice versa.
- Vanilla weapon handles: Vanilla sword and spears now use the custom handles in their recipes in order to match the other weapons. Stone tier spears still use sticks
- New attack animations: Several new attack animations of varying speed. More coming soon!
- New weapon description: Reworked the weapon description to display new stats and reorganize existing stats.
