About this project

What does MOTD add?

MOTD is a simple Message Of The Day mod that allows server owners to setup message(s) that a user will see when joining the server. Upon joining it will choose a random MOTD from the list in the config.

The MOTD messages can be formatted and support the following:

  • <b>...</b> --- Bold text
  • <i>...</i> --- Italic text
  • <color=VALUE>...</color> / <colour=VALUE>...</colour> --- Text color (VALUE can be a hex color like #FFAA00, 0xFFAA00, or FFAA00)
    • Tags can be nested
  • <a="URL">...</a> or <a href="URL">...</a> / <link="URL">...</link> --- Clickable links (URL may be quoted with single or double quotes) (Link support was added in 0.3.0)
    • Examples: <a="https://example.com">here</a>, <a href='https://example.com'&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;

The mod comes with the following commands:

  • /motd --- Displays a random MOTD message
  • /motd list --- Lists all configured MOTD messages with their indexes
  • /motd add <message> --- Adds a given MOTD message
  • /motd remove <index> --- Removes a given MOTD message by their index

You can append --repeating true to any of the motd commands to switch over to the repeating messages.
