About this project

What does HyCord add?

HyCord is a Discord Bot Bridge plugin for Hytale servers.

On first launch, the plugin will print a message to the log with instructions for setup.

  • Create a Discord Bot in the Discord Developer's Platform.
  • Obtain the bot token under the "Bot" category. (There are several guides for creating bots and assigning permissions/inviting the bots to your server. These guides will do a much better job explaining this process than I will.)
  • Open config/hycord.json in your server's config folder.
  • Replace "YOUR_BOT_TOKEN_HERE" with the bot token generated in the Discord Developer's Platform.
  • Copy the Channel ID for whichever channels in your server that you wish to use for the bot.
  • Past those channel IDs into the config file in the appropriate places, replacing the default generic IDs
  • Ensure that your bot has been invited to your server and has the appropriate permissions for the channels you wish it to interact with.
  • Save your config file and type /hycord reloadconfig in the server console.

There's no need to restart the server to reload the config. Any changes will be applied when you type the reloadconfig command.

If your bot is missing necessary intents, the mod will print a log message in the server log. The features that depend on whatever intents are missing will be disabled until the bot is given the correct intents.

Players can now link their discord accounts to their player character. To do so, type /linkdiscord in game and follow the instructions.

More features are planned in the future.
