About this project

What does MagiTech add?

MagiTech

What is MagiTech?

MagiTech is a high-fantasy industrial mod for Hytale that blends the precision of engineering with the raw power of the arcane. MagiTech aims to be a cornerstone of automation in the world of Orbis.

Playable Survival Experience (v0.2.0 Update)

As of the 0.2.0 update, MagiTech is fully functional in survival mode. The core processing loop is complete, allowing you to craft machines, extract essences, and refine them into ingots.

  • The Extractor: Feed raw ores into this machine to break them down into potent Essences.
  • The Materializer: Take those Essences and reform them into pure Ingots.
  • Ore Doubling: By using this two-step process, you effectively double your resource output compared to standard smelting.
  • Tiered Progression: Machines come in 3 tiers. Higher tiers offer significantly faster processing rates to keep up with your growing factory.

Tools and Interaction

Gone are the days of basic hammers and buckets. Interaction has been streamlined to feel more integrated into the world.

  • The Arc Wrench: A custom tool featuring glowing purple crystals. It acts as the primary ignition source for your machines and doubles as a light source when held.
  • Streamlined Collection: No extra tools required. You can now retrieve items from your machines with an empty hand.
  • Persistence: All machine states, inventory contents, and running statuses are saved and loaded reliably.

Note: While the machines are fully functional, they currently use physical interactions. Custom UI windows for these machines are currently in development.

Getting Started

1. Your First Extractor

To begin your journey, you will need to craft a Tier 1 Extractor at a workbench. Once placed, hold your Arc Wrench and interact with the machine to ensure it is in a "Running" state.

2. Processing Ore

Hold any raw ore in your hand and interact with the Extractor. After a few seconds, the machine will finish. Interact with an empty hand to retrieve your Ore Essences.

3. Materialization

Place your Essences into a Materializer. This machine works similarly to the Extractor but focuses on reforming the magical dust into solid metal. Once the cycle is complete, you will have doubled your original ore count in the form of pure ingots.

4. Maintenance & Upgrades

If your machine stops or you want to pause it, a quick tap with the Arc Wrench will toggle the state. As you gather more resources, look toward upgrading to Tier 2 and Tier 3 to dramatically increase your factory's throughput.

The Roadmap: Coming Soon

MagiTech is evolving into a full-scale automation suite. Here is what is currently in development:

  • True Automation: The ability for machines to automatically pull and push items between inventories and other machines.
  • Visual Feedback: Custom textures for the Extractor to visually distinguish between "Idle" and "Running" states.
  • Tool Integration: Updates to the Arc Wrench to provide machine diagnostics, eventually replacing the need for a Crude Hammer.
  • Energy Systems: A custom, lightweight energy system is currently in the works. While I plan to support community energy standards in the future, this internal system will ensure MagiTech remains fully playable as a standalone experience.

Join the Journey

This project is a dedicated effort to bring deep, scholarly wizardry and industrial efficiency to Hytale. Whether you are playing standalone or looking for a compatible tech base for your modpack, MagiTech is built to scale.
