About this project
What does Life Crops add?
Life Crops

Life Crops expands Hytale's farming system with resource crops, Life Essence progression, custom soils, and two new crafting benches.
Instead of farming only normal food crops, you can grow crops tied to ores, crystals, essences, woods, stones, soils, flowers, mushrooms, and creature drops. The mod is built around Life Essence: grow it, craft with it, unlock stronger seeds, then use your farmed resources to support building, crafting, and progression.
What This Mod Adds
- Life Essence and Concentrated Life Essence crops
- Ore and crystal fragment crops
- Fire, Ice, Lightning, Void, and Water essence crops
- Wood, stone, and soil essence crops
- Flower and mushroom crops
- Passive creature-drop crops
- Hostile creature-drop crops
- Eternal crop variants
- Custom infused soils
- Two custom crafting benches: the Life Well and the Life Forge
How Progression Works
Life Crops starts with Life Essence. Life Essence is the core resource used to craft and unlock many of the mod's crop seeds.
As you progress, you will use two new benches:
Life Well

The Life Well is used for crafting the new crop seeds. This is where most of the mod's farming progression begins.
Use it to turn Life Essence and other resources into seeds for new crop types.
Life Forge
The Life Forge is used to turn farmed essences back into useful blocks, materials, and resources.
This is especially important for wood, stone, soil, and other resource crops that produce essence first, then get converted into usable materials through crafting.
Crop Types
Ore and Crystal Crops
Grow crops for ores and crystal fragments, giving you a farming path for many mining resources.

Essence Crops
Grow magical essence crops, including Fire, Ice, Lightning, Void, and Water.

Creature Drop Crops
Farm useful drops from passive and hostile creatures without relying only on hunting.

Wood, Stone, and Soil Crops
Grow essence crops for building materials, then process those essences through the Life Forge.

Custom Soils
Life Crops also adds custom soil types that support the mod's crop progression.

Why Use Life Crops?
Life Crops is for players who enjoy farming-based progression, automation-friendly resource gathering, and turning agriculture into a larger part of survival gameplay.
It gives farmers a long-term role in resource generation, while still requiring crafting progression through Life Essence, the Life Well, and the Life Forge.
