About this project

What does Betaeta's QoL add?

Betaeta's QoL additions

This project focuses on refining the early-game experience by balancing recipes, improving fuel efficiency and reducing imo unneccesary grind. The goal is to balance core game mechanics and crafting recipes, in order to make the overall experience better.

Key Features:

Optimized Crafting Recipes:

  • Pocket Crafting: Added Arrows to inventory crafting. Also restored the unused Crude Repair Kit, giving it a dedicated recipe in pocket crafting.
  • Copper Items: Recipes have been reworked to use Sticks instead of Logs, with the pattern shifted down for easier access.
  • Wooden Chests: Cost reduced significantly (now requires 5 Logs instead of 10).
  • Iron Bow: balanced to require 4 Iron Bars (down from 6).
  • Diving set: Added to the Armor's workbench with a new cutom crafting recipe.
  • Construction Signs: Added to the workbench with a new crafting recipe (just a funny addition).

Smelting & Fuel:

  • Ores: Now stackable up to 100 and have a faster smelting speed.
  • Fuel Buffs: Charcoal and Sticks now burn longer, smelting more items before expiring.

Progression & Quality of Life:

  • Workbench Upgrades: Reduced the time required to upgrade the workbench significantly (5s down to 3s and 10s down to 5s).
  • Lighting: Changed Crude Torches to emit a warmer light, replacing the default harsh white tint for better atmosphere.
    • All torches and braziers (that had the same crude torch light code) now match the Crude Torch revamped emitted light.
    • The Temple Emerald Torch now emits green light instead of the old pale white one.

Weapons Balancing:

  • Daggers: Iron daggers now have a durability of 130 (up from 120), Copper Daggers now have a durability of 110 (up from 100)
  • Grimoire: Rekindle Embers (spellbook): Balanced drop rate from the Praetorian skeleton (now the minium that can be dropped is 3 and the max is 7, with a % of 55%)
    • Now stackable to 7 instead of 5.

Future Plans: This is a work in progress! I am actively planning more QoL updates and recipe tweaks. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.
