About this project
This mod simply adds spellbooks for each tier of progression that allows them to be used through the game!
I don't really feel happy with how i did armor and its progression. So i'm removing them for now. The items will remain, they will simply not be craftable anymore. If you want a solid mage armor mod that supports Unified Magic Theory (And i believe is well designed), check out Slver's Arcane Robes & Spells!
Spellbooks are meant to act as Area-Focused weapons, lacking in direct single-target damage, but making up for it with area damage in the form of a frontal piercing attack, powerful defenses, and high mana recovery efficiency. Here is a breakdown of each of the Spellbooks abilities:
A basic 3-hit combo using your spellbook. It deals 5 damage (regardless of tier) and has decently high knockabck. Each time you smack a foe, you recover some mana! You're not meant to actually kill using it... but if an enemy is weak and mana is low, sometimes this is the best option!
The meat and potatoes of this weapon! After a charge time of 0.8s, you fire a beam of magical energy forward, dealing damage (scales with tier of the spellbook) to all enemies in the line! It pierces infinitely, meaning it does not matter how many enemies are in there, you're hitting all of them! Uses 20 Mana and 0.10 Stamina.
By holding right-click, you begin to channel magic, Sacrificing Stamina to regain Mana faster. Each second of focus should replenish 20% of your Mana, and burn roughly 10~12% of your Stamina!
While focusing, You block all attacks in all directions. However, unlike normal blocking, You use Mana to block incoming damage. At a rate of 15 mana per block! If you run out of Mana or Stamina while blocking, you will enter into a block-crash and wont be able to block or refocus for a while!
While focusing, you can press Left Click to perform Manapush, a radial aoe around the player that pushes all foes around you away. This costs 30 Mana, rather than stamina like a weapon's Shove.
Spellbooks can accumulate Signature Energy by hitting foes, each foe hit grants 1 Signature Energy. With 12 Signature energy, you can cast Sacred Soil, a deployable zone which deals low damage over time (scales with tier of the spellbook) and inflicts a Heavy Slowing Effect to all foes.
This mod also add my own interpretation of armor for magicians. This armors focus on projectile protection instead of direct physical defense. While providing Mana Regeneration, rather than Max Mana.
These are separate from the existing, vanilla armors! Meaning they will not clash with mods like Weaver's Loom or Dray's Better Spellbooks!
