Caravan Traders

Caravan Traders adds a physical, inventory-based currency system to Hytale, along with a new Caravan Trader NPC.

Money is not an abstract number hidden behind a command.
It is something you carry, store, trade with other players and potentially lose.

This mod exists to cover the currently incomplete trade mechanics of Hytale Early Access. As the game stabilizes, the mod is designed to grow alongside it with its own complementary features.

Core Features

Physical Currency

• Silver and Gold exist as real inventory items
• Fully tradable with Caravan Traders and other players
• Wealth takes space and can be lost on death

Caravan Trader NPC

• Uses the Hytale’s default barter UI
• Buys junk, surplus, and unwanted items
• Sells useful goods for travel, survival, and emergencies
• Trading is convenience-focused, not a profit loop

Merchant Beacon

• Craftable at the default Workbench (Tools tab)
• One-time-use item that emits light powered by life essence and a smoke signal
• Spawns a Caravan Trader at your chosen location
• After use, it turns into a weak melee weapon instead of disappearing completely

Design Intent

• Trade should feel grounded and material
• Selling junk clears inventory space and provides small returns
• Buying emergency items is intentionally expensive
• The Caravan exists to help when you are unlucky, short on time, or far from home

Coming Soon

• Additional currencies and exchange systems
• Different traders specializing in different types of goods
• Unique and rare items available through Caravans
• Caravan NPC's are planned to feel more alive
