About this project

What does Orechards Armors add?

Orechard Armors

Ancient power. Soul-forged weapons. Armor sets that awaken only when made whole.

Complete the Set. Awaken the Legend.

Beyond the forge lies power no single piece can command. Orechard Armors transforms complete armor sets into legendary playstyles, each awakened only when all four configured pieces are worn. Take flight on forged wings, race across the wilds with unnatural speed, breathe beneath dark waters, drain life from your enemies, wield spell and steel as one, and uncover riches hidden deep within the earth.

Legends Await

· Awaken 11 configurable armor powers

· Forge 8 enchanted weapons and tools

· Master the spark-lit Grafting Altar

· Bind captured Mob Souls into your craft

· Consult the Armorer’s & Weapons Journal

· Shape the arsenal with live configuration

Required dependency: Orechards 1.4 (Orechards-1.4.jar). The plugin manifest requires dan:Orechards version 1.4.0.

Target environment: Hytale 0.7.2 release and Java 25.

Armor Set Features

Bonuses activate only when every configured piece is equipped, unless a feature is explicitly configured for a single item.

Set Feature What It Does Key Values
Flight Armor Take to the skies, shrug off falls, and unfurl GodForged wings in flight. Fly speed 1–50; default 20. Fall check every 500 ms.
Jump Armor Launch higher and cut incoming fall damage in half. Jump force 22.8; fallback 11.8.
Speed Armor Surge forward using each player’s saved walk and run boosts. Defaults: walk 1.35, run 1.50; range 1–10.
Night Vision Armor Cast a living emerald glow around the wearer. Radius 5; RGB 160, 235, 170.
Water Armor Breathe beneath the waves without fear of drowning. Refreshes every 500 ms.
Vampire Armor Steal life from living enemies with every successful proc. Heals 0.5 health; 500 ms cooldown.
Battle Mage Armor Strike for mana, unleash high-mana damage, and regenerate power over time. +4 mana per hit; x1.15 damage at 50%+ mana; +2 mana every 500 ms.
Meltdown Armor Set enemies ablaze with close-range strikes. 3-second burn; 1-second cooldown.
Treasure Armor Turn newly gathered loot into chances for bonus rewards. 15% bonus; up to 8 per item type and 24 per scan.
Miner Armor Crack out extra ore-like drops and sense riches hidden nearby. 20% bonus chance; +1 quantity; scan radius 6×4.
Traveler Armor Recover stamina while climbing, swimming, and sprinting faster. +2 stamina every 500 ms, plus configurable movement boosts.

Grafting Altar Infusion

Armor, weapons, and tools are created through ritual-style infusion rather than standard armor and weapon benches.

  1. Forge the ritual kit: 1 Grafting Altar, 8 Infusion Pedestals, and 1 Grafting Wand at the Cultivating Bench.

  2. Build the ring: center the altar in a 7×7 square, then place all 8 pedestals three blocks away—one at each corner and edge midpoint.

  3. Load the ritual: set the base item on the altar and place ingredient stacks on the pedestals.

  4. Awaken the altar with the Grafting Wand. Sparks surge inward, the ingredients are consumed, and the base item transforms.

Moving an item during infusion safely cancels the process. Recipes are loaded from infusion-recipes.json and can be refreshed with /oa reloadconfig.

Current limitation: Some recipes require multiple soul crystals on one pedestal, while soul crystals currently have a maximum stack size of one. Those recipes cannot be completed through normal survival inventory use until storage or ingredient handling is updated.

Armorer’s & Weapons Journal

Forge your field guide with 4 Plant Fibre + 1 Light Leather through pocket crafting under Tools or at a Survival Workbench. Hold the reusable journal and right-click—or open it instantly with /oajournal.

Inside the journal:

· Start fast with a guided route and exact 7×7 altar layout

· Master infusion, armor, weapon, ingredient, and upgrade recipes

· Unlock Cultivating Bench upgrades and Mob Soul capture guidance

· Review equipment powers and solve common problems

· Find entries quickly with search, chapter selection, and Previous/Next navigation

The journal reads the server’s loaded recipes, assets, and armor configuration. Reopen it after configuration reloads or asset changes to see the latest information.

Weapons & Tools

Each weapon begins as its matching vanilla Mithril weapon or tool, retaining its normal attacks, damage, and durability while gaining a unique model and ability.

Weapon or Tool Ability
Soul-Render Carve through foes—every third melee hit restores 10% of maximum health.
Hollow-Crush Crush defenses: each hit adds 5% damage taken, stacking five times and fading after eight seconds.
Wraith-String Loose empowered arrows that strike for 25% bonus damage.
Blight-Cleave Cleave into targets and slow them by 15% for three seconds.
World-Piercer Pierce the earth and pull smelted bars straight from ore.
Ethereal Hatchet Sever one trunk and fell up to 96 connected logs above it.
Sun-Eater Devour the light—each hit ignites its target for three seconds.
Astral Lance Drive through enemies with 20% bonus damage on every hit.

Mob Soul Crafting

Bind captured souls into every piece of armor. Costs shift by slot and set, drawing from Creature, Elemental, Aquatic, Undead, Void, Intelligent, and Boss Mob Soul crystals.

Shape the hunt in mob-soul-categories.properties, or configure categories and exact capture overrides in-game with /oa mobsoulconfig. Aliases: /oa soulconfig and /oa mobsouls.

Commands

Command Purpose
/oa flyspeed <1–50> Sets and saves player flight speed.
/oa walkspeed <1–10> Sets and saves the Speed Armor walk multiplier.
/oa runspeed <1–10> Sets and saves the Speed Armor run multiplier.
/oa config Opens the in-game configuration editor.
/oa reloadconfig Reloads the properties file without restarting the server.
/oa wings <on|off|auto> Overrides Flight Armor wing visibility for testing.
/oajournal Opens the read-only player journal.

Installation & Development

  1. Install Orechards 1.4 in the server’s mods directory.

  2. Build with ./gradlew.bat build on Windows or ./gradlew build on Linux and macOS.

  3. Copy Orechard_Armors-1.4.2.jar from build/libs into the server’s mods directory.

  4. Use matching Hytale 0.7.2 server and asset files. Back up and stop the development server before replacing its runtime.

For IntelliJ playtesting, place the matching server file at run/HytaleServer.jar, assets at run/Assets.zip, and the built mod in run/mods. Verify the runtime with java -jar run/HytaleServer.jar --version.

The optional Simple Enchantments integration compiles against lib/SimpleEnchantments-0.9.0.jar. Other installed mods must also support the same server release.

Configuration

· orechard-armors.properties — armor piece IDs, feature switches, weapon settings, and tuning values.

· infusion-recipes.json — altar recipes and pedestal ingredients.

· mob-soul-categories.properties — Mob Soul keyword categories and exact capture overrides.

Default configurations include complete sets for Flight, Jump, Speed, Water, Vampire, Battle Mage, Treasure, Miner, Traveler, and Meltdown. Night Vision defaults to the Forge-Weight helm. Blank or partial feature sets remain inactive until all four piece IDs are configured.

Testing Note

The Gradle build runs journal tests, but client layout, controls, and all gameplay effects should still be verified in-game before release.
