About this project
What does Voxel Dungeon add?
Voxel Dungeon is a roguelike gamemode for Hytale.
Start with nothing, explore a procedural dungeon filled with enemies and try to reach the end without dying, using every item you manage to find on the way. If you die at any point, you'll have to try again.
Features
- A procedurally generated dungeon, with a chaotic layout.
- A dynamic map, to avoid getting lost in the dungeon.
- Chests with random loot, necessary to survive.
- Many enemies, they will kill you.
- Bosses, they will also kill you.
- Traps, they shouldn't kill you.
- Multiplayer support! Die with your friends.
How to play
First, make sure your inventory is empty. You'll find everything you need inside the dungeon.
Then, there are three ways to create a dungeon and play:
- You can place the portal block (
/give VD_Portal) then interact with it. This is the recommended way ; - You can use the
/dungeoncommand. It will open the exact same menu as the portal block ; - You can use
/dungeon play --floor=1. This command will instantly teleport you in a new dungeon, on the specified floor. This is mostly useful for testing and not the intended way.
To leave the dungeon without dying, you must reach the end. Or you can teleport out, using /dungeon leave or a similar command. But that's cheating.
Is there multiplayer support?
Yes! The first player should create the dungeon, by clicking on "Create a dungeon".
Then, all the other players can simply join by clicking on "Join an existing dungeon".
While creating the dungeon, make sure to specify the exact number of players that will play, otherwise the game won't be balanced properly.
Reviving your teammates is not implemented yet. If someone dies, they are thrown out of the dungeon and must join again.
