About this project
What does Fair Maidens add?
Introduction
A forgotten land lies sealed beneath an endless sleep. Few have found it, and even fewer have returned. Hidden within are ancient ruins, strange relics, silent waters, and the traces of something that should have ended long ago.
Fair Maidens adds a mysterious new corner of Orbis, Neverchange. This region is built around themes of memory, silence, beauty, and unease, creating a world that feels dreamlike, haunting, and distinct while still fitting naturally into Hytale’s visual style.
IMPORTANT This mod is still in active development, so the current version only represents a small part of the intended vision. Because of that, some features are incomplete and bugs may occur, including issues such as problems with tree falling.
To access the world, you need to craft a Fragment Key. Its timer is currently set to 16 minutes.
If you notice any bugs, feel free to report them in the comments or through discord.
About
The mod currently adds new flora, creatures, props, structures, sub-biomes, environmental details, and equipment, all designed to expand Hytale with a more melancholic and mysterious identity.
The world has already grown into a more varied and immersive landscape, with updated biome layouts, refined terrain generation, custom weather, water areas, statues, paths, structures, and biome-specific vegetation. Every part of the region is meant to feel handcrafted and rich with quiet worldbuilding.
Biomes
Elysian Forest A dense woodland filled with pale ruins, winding rivers, unusual flora, and the sense that something sacred once stood here.
Birchward A watchful border forest with new paths, bushes, tinted grass, and birch-heavy terrain that guards the deeper parts of Neverchange.
Fields of Bliss A quiet open landscape of lakes, hills, structures, and soft overgrowth, shaped to feel beautiful, calm, and slightly uncanny.
Fields of Sorrow A darker and more overgrown region with hills, custom tint, weather, and spawns, now serving as the main entry point into this sleeping land.
Bliss Marsh A newer sub-biome with wetter terrain, tall water reeds, and a more untamed atmosphere
NPCs Encounter new creatures such as the White Crow and the Pink Snake, each adding more life and mystery to this strange and sleeping realm.
Items Discover unique additions such as the Pieczarka Mushroom, Dandelions, and the Winged Helmet, along with other elements designed to enrich the world while staying true to Hytale’s visual identity.
Structures and Worldbuilding
Neverchange is filled with visual storytelling. Across the region, you may find religious icons, pottery, statues, pale ruins, and other structures that suggest a forgotten past beneath the silence. These additions are meant not just to decorate the world, but to make it feel like a place with memory, ritual, and loss.
Future
This is only the beginning. Future updates are planned to expand the mod with more creatures, darker regions, new structures, deeper environmental storytelling, and secrets hidden beneath the surface of this sleeping realm.
At the moment, the mod may feel a little empty, because my main goal so far was to build biomes that show it is possible to create a world that is simple, but still charming and able to simulate something that feels more natural and believable. Plans for new items and NPCs are already there, and they are meant to fit the atmosphere of the mod, but they will be added gradually over time. I am the only person working on this project, and to be honest, I am still at the beginning of my journey with modding and creating something more ambitious and creative.
I am also very grateful for all the interest and support this mod has received so far. It truly means a lot to me and gives me even more motivation to keep developing Neverchange further.
Created by Kryptokicia for the Hytale Modding Contest, this project is planned to continue beyond the contest.
