Moar N Better Backpacks! v1.0.0
4 Apr 2026
CurseForge · Hytale mod
Modifies the recipes of the original 3 backpacks to make them easier to craft, and with the changes, they use ingredients you actually CAN get in game! (e.g. does away with storm leather) It also adds in two new Tier 4 and 5 Backpack upgrades!

About this project
This is a very simple mod I made in less than 3 hours that modifies the recipes of the Vanilla Tier 1 to Tier 3 backpacks to actually be aquireable in game. For example, Tier 3 originally needed "Storm Leather" to craft it. However as we know by now, Storm Leather isn't actually even implemented into the game yet. So my solution to that problem is to just make it not need it! I also made them a lot easier to get earlier on, but using ingredients that actually make sense!
But I didn't stop with just that. I also added in two new upgrade tiers to the backpacks as well. It goes up to Tier 5 now. Each rank increases the backpack capacity further. At maximum rank, you'll get access to 54 total slots of available space to carry more of the things you love to hoarde! Now as for these two final tiers, they not only have the stipulation of requiring a lot of resources to craft, but you also need to unlock memories to even access them!
Yes, there are. However, those backpacks seemed just too overkill for me. (96 slots? I can't even SEE everything in my slots at that point!) I wanted something grounded in the world that made sense, and fit the establishments placed already. Many of the other backpack mods are some pretty serious overhauls too, using their own rules and syntax. Mine is very simple. Using only the vanilla arguments and not being bloated with extra stuff. If thats appealing to you, then heres this mod!
You simply have to take "Plant Fibers" to a Builders Bench and throw them in. Two options should appear in the prompts, Rope, and Diagonal Rope. You need to select the regular vertical Rope.
