About this project

What does Fossil Tide add?

Fossil Tide is built around one clear fantasy: an ancient inland sea that vanished and left its skeleton behind. Players arrive on a high overlook, read the whole zone at a glance, then descend into reef terraces, cross mineral flats cut by giant fossil ribs, and discover salt sinks, ruins, and cave mouths that never feel random from the ground.

The region is designed as one connected exploration loop rather than a screenshot biome. Each sub-area has a distinct role: the basin carries the main route, the reef wall shapes long silhouettes and elevation changes, the salt sinks break up the flats into readable pockets, and the catacombs give the player a navigable underground layer with clear exits back to the surface.

To support close-up detail without bloating scope, the pack also includes a small custom block family for fossil limestone, reef shale, and cracked saltglass. Those materials sharpen the identity of ruins, cliff bands, sink edges, and hero landmarks while staying performance-friendly and cohesive with the Hytale look.

Fossil Tide is meant to feel strong in motion: easy to read, rewarding to cross on foot, and memorable both in a cinematic flythrough and at eye level during actual play.
