About this project

What does automatic-collector add?

The perfect companion to Automatic Storage: one mod sorts your items in, this one gets them out.

Features

  • One block, all your storage: place THE_Collector near your chests, right-click, and browse everything stored around it
  • Category browsing: items grouped by their native categories, with icons and translated names (uses your game language)
  • Instant search: type a name, press Enter, pick from the results
  • Keep-one mode (default on): always leaves one item of each type per chest, so chest-based sorting systems (like Automatic Storage) keep working
  • Server-friendly: built for high-population servers — a single chest scan per session, no per-keystroke network traffic, all heavy filtering done on cached data
  • Same range as crafting benches: uses the server's bench gameplay config (16 blocks horizontal, 6 vertical by default), so it respects custom server configs
  • Never destroys items: anything that doesn't fit in your inventory goes right back into its chest

Usage

  1. Craft THE_Collector at a Workbench (Survival tab) — end-game recipe: 40x Thorium Bar, 20x Onyxium Bar, 20x Gold Bar
  2. Place it within range of your chests
  3. Right-click it: browse by category or search by name
  4. Select an item, enter a quantity, hit Collect

Compatibility

  • Works with any chest/container block, vanilla or modded
  • Custom items from other mods are supported (uncategorized items appear under "Misc")
  • Designed alongside Automatic Storage's keep-one convention

Bedrock Protection

Players can protect their storage from collectors by walling chests with bedrock. The collector uses a line-of-sight check from its center to each chest center: if bedrock blocks that line, the chest is ignored.
