About this project
What does Void Chest add?
Every build ends up with its own pile of chests. The one with your ore is three zones away from the one with your food, and the one with your building blocks is back at spawn. Walking a loot run home takes longer than the run itself.
So I gave chests a shared inventory instead.
HOW IT WORKS
Place a Void Chest and press F. It opens on its current channel, a number from 0 to 99. Any other Void Chest set to the same channel shares that inventory, no matter where it's placed - one world, one storage pool per channel.
Crouch+F opens the channel menu instead of the chest, where you pick the number and toggle Private.
- Public channel: anyone can open a chest on that number.
- Private: only you can open yours, even if another player is squatting on the same channel.
A HUD line shows the channel and mode while the chest is open, so you're never guessing which pile you're looking at.
CRAFTING
6 Deadwood Planks, 4 Iron Bar, 2 Void Essence, at the Furniture bench (memories level 3).
HONEST LIMITATION
Channels are per-world. If you jump to a different world, channel 12 there is a fresh, empty 27 slots - it does not follow you across worlds.
📦 INSTALLATION
Install through the CurseForge app, or drop the jar straight into your Mods folder - no zip, no extraction:
- Windows: %AppData%\Hytale\UserData\Mods
- Linux: ~/.local/share/Hytale/UserData/Mods
Server-side plugin. Works out of the box in singleplayer; on a multiplayer server, only the server needs it installed.
