About this project
What does Mana Staves add?
Mana Staves
Use Hytale’s native Mana to power your magical staves.
Mana Staves allows supported Fire and Ice Staves to use Hytale’s native Mana system instead of consuming elemental essence. If you don’t have enough Mana for a cast, the staff automatically falls back to its normal essence cost.
No modes to switch. No special Mana resource. Use Mana when you have it and essence when you don’t.
You Choose How Players Get Mana
- Grant Base Mana — Give every player a configurable Mana pool.
- Use the Arcane Focus — Players craft and equip an Arcane Focus to gain Mana, then upgrade to the Attuned Arcane Focus for more Mana and increased magical damage.
- Use Another Mana Source — Turn off Mana Staves’ Mana sources and use native Mana provided by another mod or system.
- Mix and Match — Base Mana, Focus Mana and other native Mana sources can work together.
Key Features
- Native Mana Powered Staves — Supported Fire and Ice Staff abilities draw from Hytale’s existing Mana system.
- Automatic Essence Fallback — Not enough Mana? Your staff uses its normal elemental essence instead.
- Arcane Focus — A craftable off-hand utility item that provides a configurable Mana pool.
- Attuned Arcane Focus — Upgrade your Focus for additional Mana and a configurable damage bonus to supported Fire and Ice Staff attacks.
- Contextual Mana HUD — The native Mana bar appears when it’s relevant and gets out of the way when it isn’t.
- Vanilla Mechanics Preserved — Charging, stamina, durability, projectiles, sounds and animations continue to work normally.
- Server Configurable — Adjust Mana cost, Base Mana, Focus Mana, Attuned Focus Mana, damage bonus and Focus requirements.
- Mod Friendly — Mana supplied by other equipment, buffs or mods can work alongside Mana Staves.
Default Settings
- Mana Cost: 15 per supported staff action
- Base Mana: 0
- Arcane Focus: 100 Mana
- Attuned Arcane Focus: 125 (Upgraded Mana pool) plus 15% staff damage
- Arcane Focus Required: Yes
Server owners can change these values to fit their own progression, balance or modpack.
Compatibility
- Hytale Update 6 Ready — Tested successfully with the Update 0.6.1.
- Backwards Compatible — Also tested successfully with Hytale 0.5.9.
Permissions
Mana Staves works for all players by default.
manastaves.use— Granted by default. Server admins can explicitly deny it to disable Mana-powered staff functionality for specific players or groups.manastaves.command— Admin permission for/manastaves, which displays the server’s current Mana Staves configuration.
Mana Staves changes how you fuel your magic, not how Hytale’s staves work.
