About this project

What does Factorocraft Essentials add?

This is a mod primarily designed to accompany my Factorocraft modpack (as well as others of my creation), but may be used in other modpacks as well. Feel free to use it in your own modpack (Do note though that it is intended for experienced modpack makers, as there are no native recipes in the mod and some ore veins are not available by default and have to be configured). If you would like something to be changed, I will take requests (though cannot guarantee I'll be able to address them as I am relativley new to modding). This mod supports other modded ores and dimensions, but does not require them as dependancies.

So far this mod adds the following:

Ore Veins:

-Ore Vein Blocks: The primary feature of the mod. They spawn on the World's surface, can be mined manually (and automatically with other mods on 1.20.1, or using custom machines) and infinitley, and cannot be moved

-In 1.18.2: They spawn naturally with these variants: Iron, Copper, Stone, Coal, Redstone, Tin, Uranium, and Oil

-In 1.20.1 & 1.21.1: They spawn naturally in the overworld with these variants: Iron, Copper, Stone, Coal, Redstone, and Uranium.

-Additionally in 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, extra ore veins can be configured to spawn via a datapack (instructions for use coming in the future. See my Rokkit 2 modpack for examples of all in global_packs/required_data/factorocraft/data/factorocraft/worldgen): Gold, Aluminum, Tin, Lapis, Lead, Lithium, Nickel, Osmium, Silver, Zinc, Titanium, Platinum, Tungsten, Iridium, Desh, Ostrum, Calorite. With all ores enabled the following will spawn: Nether: Gold, Osmium, Platinum, Redstone, Silver; End: Lapis, Lead, Platinum, Silver.

-Additionally in 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, this mod can add certain ore veins to modded dimensions via datapack config, and includes support for the following mods: Ad Astra (Glacio: Iridium; Mars: Aluminum, Copper, Iron, Ostrum, Redstone, Titanium, Tungsten; Moon: Aluminum, Desh, Iron, Titanium; Venus: Calorite, Iron), The Aether (Copper, Gold, Lapis, Silver, Tin). (Note that only certain ores can be configured to spawn in each dimension. All supported ore vein variants are also visible in the config file). Similarly, you can add ore veins to modded biomes, such as from Terralith or Biomes of Plenty, by modifying the configuration (See my Rokkit 2 modpack for examples of all in global_packs/required_data/factorocraft/data/factorocraft/tags/worldgen/biome)

-In 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, you can use a piston in survival mode to destory an ore vein. Ore veins are destroyed by default in creative mode -> This is no longer the case for survival mode, and an alternative way of destroying ore veins in survival may be added in the future

-In 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, the ore veins now support Create Drills and any other block breaking machines for infinite mining!

-In 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, ore vein drops can be configured using tags. Simply tag an item with an ore veins corresponding drop tag, and it will overwrite the default drops of an ore vein. (I would recommend using the KubeJS mod to make this easy). Examples: Adding the "iron_ore_vein_drop" tag to an item will make Iron Ore Veins drop that item. Note that ore veins can only have a maximum of one tagged drop. If multiple items are tagged, it will always drop whichever item is read in first.

-All ore vein tags follow the format: "[ore vein type]_ore_vein_drop"

-In 1.20.1 & 1.21.1, Randomite Ore and Ore Veins have been added. They are capable of the following behaviors:

-Randomite Ore/Veins will randomly drop items from a pre-configured list. Items can be added to or removed from this list via tags. Randomite Ores/Veins support multiple items tagged as drops.

-Randomite drops have up to eight seperate drop rarities, whose weights can be configured in the mods main configuration. Note that these drop weights are universal accross all Randomite drops for the specified rarity. Multiple items can have the same drop rate from one ore. The rarities also do not have to correspond with their given name, and can be weighted however needed.

-The rarities are: Common (tag:"common"), Uncommon (tag:"uncommon"), Rare (tag:"rare"), Super Rare (tag:"super_rare"), Ultra Rare (tag:"ultra_rare"), Hyper Rare (tag:"hyper_rare"), Legendary (tag:"legendary"), Mythical (tag:"mythical")

-Randomite has 8 different loot pools that can be set, which by default are defined via dimensions (including modded ones). While they are predefined for these dimensions, you can change the spawning biomes for the ore veins such that they can spawn in any other dimensions (minus the Nether Randomite Ore Veins, which generate differently due to the generation in the Nether).

-The loot pool dimensions (or loot pool names) are: Overworld (tag:"overworld"), Nether (tag:"nether"), End (tag:"end"), Aether (tag:"aether"), Moon (tag:"moon"), Mars (tag:"mars"), Venus (tag:"venus"), Glacio (tag:"glacio")

-Adding items to a Randomite Ore's loot pool can be accomplished in the following ways:

-To add a Common item drop to ALL Randomite Ore Loot pools, add the following tag to an item: "common_ore_vein_drop".

-Adding item drops to all loot pools follows the format: "[rarity]_ore_vein_drop"

(See above list for all rarities)

-To add a Rare item drop to a SPECIFIC Randomite Ore Loot pool, add the following tag to an item: "overworld_rare_ore_vein_drop" (Will add a Rare drop to the "Overworld" Randomite loot pool only).

-Adding item drops to specific loot pools follows the format: "[dimension]_[rarity]_ore_vein_drop"

(See above list for all dimension/loot pool names)

-Note that the Randomite Ores corresponding with each dimension will have the same loot pools as their equivalent ore veins, however they will only drop a single item before being destroyed
