Progressive Tiers
A dynamic, tier-based entity enhancement system based on health thresholds.
Quick answer
Which Progressive Tiers release should I use?
Progressive Tiers 3.1.3 targets 1.21.1 with NeoForge. Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Progressive Tiers required on the client, server, or both?
Installation on the client is optional. Installation on the dedicated server is optional.
The source marks this as usable on both the client and server.
What else does Progressive Tiers 3.1.3 need?
3.1.3. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Cloth Config API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does Progressive Tiers add?
🚀 Progressive Tiers
Progressive Tiers is a dynamic entity enhancement system that breathes new life into Minecraft's combat experience. By categorizing mobs into different tiers based on their health, the mod introduces a scaling difficulty system where every encounter is unique.
🛡️ Core Mechanics
Tier System
Mobs are divided into three tiers based on their maximum health (configurable):
Tier 1: Common mobs.
Tier 2: Stronger entities that exceed the Tier 1 threshold.
Tier 3: Elite monsters that exceed the Tier 2 threshold.
The "Quality" Logic
While Tiers set the baseline, Quality is the ultimate factor in a mob's strength. To keep gameplay unpredictable, we use a probability-based system:
Higher Tiers have a much better chance of spawning with high Quality.
Randomness: A Tier 1 mob has a rare chance to become Quality 3, while a Tier 3 mob might occasionally only be Quality 1.
Visuals: Quality 3 and Bosses will have a Glowing effect, making them instantly recognizable from a distance.
Quality Levels & Attributes
Quality 1: 0-1 Low-level traits. (Basic particles)
Quality 2: 2-3 Mid-level traits. (Enhanced particles + Health boosted to Tier 1 limit if lower)
Quality 3: 4-5 High-level traits. (Epic particles + Health boosted to Tier 2 limit if lower)
BOSS: 5 Max-level traits. (Legendary particles + Glowing)
⚔️ Mob Traits (Affixes)
Equip [Jade] to see specific traits above the mob's head!
Powerful: Increases attack damage (+2 per level, max 6).
Regenerating: Grants health regeneration (+0.5 HP/s per level, max 5).
Speedy: Increases movement speed (+10% per level, max 6).
Protected: Reduces incoming damage (-10% per level, max 6).
Fireproof: Complete immunity to fire and burning.
Poisonous: Applies Poison on hit. From Level 3, it also applies Mining Fatigue.
Stray: Applies Slowness on hit.
Weakening: Applies Weakness on hit.
Berserk: Deals 1.5* Damage.
Lifesteal: Heals for 50% of damage dealt (Healing cap: 12).
Tanky: Grants +4 Armor, +4 Armor Toughness, and +20% Knockback Resistance per level.
Void:Deals bonus true damage equal to 4% of Max HP per level(max 2).
🎁 Extra Rewards (Loot)
Elite mobs carry rare treasures! (Can be disabled in config):
Quality 2: Drops 0-1 Low-level enchanted books.
Quality 3: Drops 1-2 Mid-to-High level enchanted books.
BOSS: Guaranteed 3 High-level enchanted books.
⚙️ Configuration
The config file enhanced_monster-common.toml allows you to customize:
Blacklist/Whitelist: Control which mobs can be enhanced.
Boss List: Manually define which entities are treated as Bosses.
Tier Limits: Customize health thresholds for Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Toggles: Enable or disable extra drops and particle effects.
