Flimsy Torches

[ Halloween Special featuring Haunted Jack o'Lanterns ]

What's the mod about?

Regular torches get replaced with Flimsy Torches Flimsy Torches burn through 4 states until fully depleted Put torches in lanterns to make them last longer

Campfires burn through 5 states until fully depleted

Beware: A blazing campfire (max state) can spread fire to nearby blocks

Torch scraps can be salvaged to get some coal back

Villagers replace nearby torches as they burn out

Regular torches can still be obtained with additional effort!

Boring Details:

• Upon loading a chunk for the first time, torches get replaced by flimsy torches (1% chance for a torch to not change)
• Regular torches can be crafted using Flimsy Torch and Magma Cream
• Soul torches can be crafted using Soul Sand/Soil and Torch (Regular)
• Candles and Waxed Torches that last longer planned for a future version ;<;

Halloween Update - October 28th, 2026:

Flimsy Jack o'Lanterns have been added:

• Carved pumpkins work like lanterns
• Right click a carved pumpkin with a flimsy torch to insert it
• Like lanterns, torches last longer inside a carved pumpkins
• Something spooky might happen when they burn out...

Campfire Update - October 10th, 2026:

Flimsy Campfires have been added:

• Flimsy Campfires burn through 5 states
• Right-click a campfire with logs or planks to fuel it
• In it's max state, the blazing campfire can spread fire (can be changed in configs)
• Custom items can be added as fuel through configs
• The Flimsy Campfire can be lit with a Flimsy Torch (will be consumed)

Lantern Update - March 28th, 2026:

Flimsy Lanterns have been added:

• The lanterns can be crafted with eight iron nuggets and start out empty
• Right-click a lantern with a Flimsy Torch to light it
• Inserted torch will last 50% longer (can be changed in configs)

Villager Update - October 19th, 2025:

Villager torch behavior's been added, allowing villagers to replace torches as they burn out:

• Villagers will occasionally look for nearby torches to replace
• Burnt Out torches are prioritized first, followed by Smoldering ones
• Through the config, you can adjust the frequency and which grades of torches get replaced

Config Update - October 3rd, 2025:

Config's been added, allowing you to tweak a few things:

• Individual torch burn duration for all states
• Lucky torch spawn chance
• Add other mods' custom torches, so they get replaced with flimsy torches too
