About this project
What does AD Stats add?
ADStats is a server-side mod that tracks and enhances player progression by monitoring their in-game activities and rewarding them with skill levels, stat bonuses, and gameplay perks.
The mod keeps detailed statistics for each player, including movement, combat, resource gathering, and animal care.
As players accumulate experience in various activities, their skills increase automatically, the mod applies the corresponding stat bonuses, and higher milestone tiers unlock real gameplay perks like bonus damage, extra resources, or a chance to shrug off fall damage entirely.
Keep in mind that the growth is exponential, so the more you level up a stat the more difficult it will be in the future. This can be used for either getting stronger, feeling a sense of accomplishment, or just flexing on your friends :D
Key features:
- Activity tracking:
• Tracks the total distance traveled by players.
• Tracks damage dealt and taken, including damage dealt by bows and crossbows.
• Monitors fishing, farming, foraging, mining and excavation, for those of you that like to farm materials rather than fight.
• Tracks potion interactions and items enchanted.
• Tracks taming, breeding, and caring for animals. - Helpful Commands:
• /adstats : Displays your levels for all stats.
• /adstats skills : Displays your levels for all skills.
• /adstats <stat_name> : Displays what level the specific stat is, including what skills increase it.
• /adstats skills <skill_name> : Displays what level the specific skill is, what percent of the way you are to the next level, and what you need to do to grow it.
• /adstats top : Shows a leaderboard of the top players for a given skill or stat. - Skill levels:
Each tracked activity contributes to specific skill levels:
• Agility: Tracks distance traveled.
• Fighting: Tracks total damage dealt.
• Archery: Tracks bow damage dealt.
• Defense: Tracks total damage taken.
• Farming: Tracks gathering from farms.
• Foraging: Tracks cutting down trees.
• Mining & Excavation: Tracks breaking blocks.
• Fishing: Tracks how many fish you catch.
• Enchanting: Tracks items enchanted, at the table or the anvil.
• Alchemy: Tracks potions drunk/brewed/splashed.
• Husbandry: Tracks taming, breeding, and feeding animals. - Skill effect:
• Agility: Increases Speed.
• Fighting: Increases Strength.
• Archery: Increases Strength.
• Defense: Increases Health and Toughness.
• Farming: Increases Health and Strength.
• Foraging: Increases Strength and Toughness.
• Mining: Increases Luck and Toughness.
• Excavation: Increases Strength.
• Fishing: Increases Health and Luck.
• Enchanting: Increases Luck.
• Alchemy: Increases Health.
• Husbandry: Increases Health. - Stat levels:
• Strength: Increases damage dealt per level.
• Health: Increases total HP per level.
• Speed: Increases movement speed on foot per level.
• Luck: Increases luck for things like looting chests or fishing per level.
• Toughness: Reduces damage taken per level.
• Every stat also gets an extra bump each time it crosses one of the 6 milestone tiers, on top of its normal per-level growth. - Gameplay Bonuses:
Reaching a milestone tier (level 1/5/10/15/20/25) in a skill doesn't just look good on the advancement tab, it unlocks a real chance-based perk, where the tier itself is both the odds and the strength of the effect:
• Mining, Excavation, Foraging, Farming, Fishing: chance of an extra item per gather.
• Fighting, Archery: chance of bonus damage (configurable to apply in PvP too).
• Defense: chance of taking reduced damage.
• Alchemy: chance of a drunk or splashed potion's effects lasting longer.
• Enchanting: chance of a cheaper enchanting table or anvil cost.
• Husbandry: chance of a healthier tamed pet, or bonus offspring when breeding.
• Agility: chance of negating fall damage.
A subtle sound plays for you (and only you) whenever one of these procs. - Level-Up Notifications:
Leveling up shows an announcement with a matching sound. When a level-up also crosses into a stronger gameplay bonus, you'll additionally get an additional message explaining what just got better. A live bar progress display also shows your progress toward the next level while you're actively working on a skill. - Advancements:
Skill and stat milestones are tracked in their own dedicated tabs in the vanilla advancement screen (L key), with icons that upgrade as you climb each tier, so your progress is visible even without a command. - Fully Configurable:
Nearly everything above, leveling speed, which skills are enabled, every gameplay bonus, sound cues, announcement timing, and more can be tuned or disabled per-server via a generated config file. PvP counting toward Fighting/Defense, and the Fighting/Archery damage bonus applying in PvP, are both on by default. - Persistent Data:
All stats are saved in the player's persistent data using NBT, ensuring progress is maintained across sessions. A cache system is also used for efficient access and periodic saving. So you will not lose any progress if you crash! - Server Integration:
Fully server-side, so if the server has it downloaded, the players won't need to have it as well, but you can if you want to! Of course, if you play singleplayer you will need it.
Overall Effect:
ADStats adds an RPG-like progression layer to Minecraft, rewarding players for a more diverse playstyle and providing growth in combat, exploration, gathering, and even animal husbandry. Beyond stat growth, milestone tiers unlock tangible gameplay perks, giving every skill a reason to keep leveling long after the numbers stop feeling new. Players are incentivized to engage with the world in varied ways to level up their skills and improve their desired stats.
