About this project

What does Tree/Grower add?

Tree/Grower

Tree/Grower is a Minecraft mod that allows you to quickly plant multiple tree types and grow them in seconds without having to mess with tick speed!

Features

  • /growtrees – Automatically grow trees in a specified number of chunks around your position.
  • /treestop – Stop any ongoing tree growth operations immediately.
  • /planttrees – Plant saplings with customizable noise patterns and multiple types of trees.
  • Supports multiple procedural noise types: uniform, simplex, perlin, and voronoi.
  • Weighted tree selection allows for mixed forests using up to three sapling types.

Commands

/growtrees <chunks>

Automatically grows trees in the specified number of chunks around the player.

Example:

/growtrees 5

This will attempt to grow trees in a 5×5 chunk area centered on the player.

/treestop

Stops all currently running tree growth processes.

Example:

/treestop

/planttrees <chunks> <amount> <noisetype> <type1> [type2] [type3]

Plants saplings across the specified area with advanced control.

Parameters:

  • chunks – Number of chunks around the player to plant trees in (1–24).
  • amount – Approximate number of trees per chunk.
  • noisetype – Type of procedural noise to use for tree distribution. Options:
    • uniform – Trees are placed randomly with equal probability.
    • simplex – Uses Simplex noise for smooth clustered placement.
    • perlin – Uses Perlin noise for natural variation.
    • voronoi – Clusters trees around randomly generated seed points.
  • type1 – First sapling type (required).
  • type2 – Second sapling type (optional).
  • type3 – Third sapling type (optional).

Examples:

  • Plant 10 trees per chunk using uniform noise and only oak saplings:

/planttrees 3 10 uniform minecraft:oak_sapling

  • Plant 5 trees per chunk using Voronoi noise with oak, birch, and spruce saplings:

/planttrees 6 5 voronoi minecraft:oak_sapling minecraft:birch_sapling minecraft:spruce_sapling

Notes

  • The actual number of trees planted may exceed the amount parameter depending on noise and terrain.
  • Saplings are only planted where they can survive (on solid ground, not obstructed).
  • Voronoi noise creates natural-looking clusters, while Simplex and Perlin produce smooth, flowing forest patterns.

Installation

  1. Place the Tree/Grower mod .jar into your Minecraft mods folder.
  2. Launch Minecraft with Forge.
  3. Ensure you have permissions to use commands (creative mode or OP).
