About this project
What does Fruit Madness add?
FruitMadness
Welcome to Fruit Madness — a wild fruit-themed addition that brings juicy mangoes, deadly weapons, and a touch of magic to your Minecraft world! This is the first version of the mod, featuring the king of tropical fruits — the Mango.
The mod adds a new tree — the mango tree — along with various building blocks made from its wood, as well as unique mechanics involving golden fruits and a blowgun.
FEATURES
🌳Mango
New mango trees generate in the world. You can find them growing in... deserts! (Yes, that's where they thrive in this crazy mod). Cutting down the tree yields:
- Mango Logs — the base material for all further crafting.
- Mango Leaves — beautiful, slightly lighter-colored foliage. They have a small chance to drop saplings or fruit.
🍊 Fruits
The main treasure of the mod is the mango fruit, which can be eaten or used as a crafting ingredient.
- Mango:
A tasty and nutritious fruit. Restores 4 hunger points.
Can drop from mango leaves.
- Golden Mango:
A true fruit of the gods! Crafted from a regular mango surrounded by gold nuggets.
When eaten, it grants powerful effects:
- Fire Resistance II for a full minute.
- Blessing for 30 seconds.
But the most interesting part happens after you eat it: 1-2 Golden Pits pop out of you, ready to be used!
🔫 Weapons
The craziest way to attack your enemies.
- Golden Pit:
Can be thrown like a regular projectile.
On impact, it sets the target on fire and creates a small fire zone around the impact area.
Drops from you after eating a Golden Mango or can be found in chests.
- Blowgun:
Designed specifically to shoot Golden Pits.
Features charge progression: the longer you hold right-click, the farther and more powerful the shot.
A pit fired from the blowgun deals increased damage and creates a fire zone 3 times larger than a simple throw!
✨ Blessing
A new unique status effect. When active (for example, after eating a Golden Mango), the player shoots 8 Golden Pits in all directions every 2 seconds! The effect level increases their speed. Create your own fireworks show!
🧱 Building
Mango logs can be crafted into all the standard wooden building blocks:
Planks, slabs, stairs.
Fences, fence gates.
Buttons, pressure plates.
All wooden blocks are flammable and can be used as fuel in a furnace.
🗺️ Generation
Mango trees generate in the Desert biome.
Mangoes, Golden Mangoes, Golden Pits, and Blowguns can be found in chests located in:
Jungle Temples.
Desert Pyramids.
💰 Trading
The Wandering Trader may now offer you mangoes, mango logs, and mango leaves in exchange for emeralds.
🦈 Experimental Feature: Sharks
Note: This content is currently in an experimental stage!
As part of a cross-mod development experiment, Sharks have been temporarily added to Fruit Madness. They are not directly related to the fruit theme but serve as a preview of features planned for another mod: Around the World — a project focused on world exploration and new creatures, currently in very early development.
Sharks spawn in ocean biomes, making the seas more lively and interesting.
They are hostile and will attack players.
- Baby sharks can be caught and carried in buckets! Keep them as pets or transport them to your own private aquarium.
- Defeating a shark may drop useful materials for future updates.
These creatures are placeholders and will be moved to the Around the World mod once it reaches a more stable release. For now, enjoy this sneak peek into a wilder, more dangerous ocean!
Future Plans (TODO)
This is just the beginning! Future versions will bring new crazy fruits and mechanics. Stay tuned!
