About this project

What does Simple Planes Fuel Compatibility Fork add?

✈️ Simple Planes — Enhanced Physics Fork

Minecraft 1.20.1 | Forge & NeoForge

A fork of the original Simple Planes mod. Focused on dynamic crash physics, extended fuel compatibility and payload interactions. All original flight mechanics remain completely intact. Full credit for the original mod goes to its original developers.

🛩️ Aircraft

Four aircraft types are available:

Aircraft Seats Fuel Usage Speed Notes
Small Plane 1 Low Fast Most efficient model
Large Plane 2 Medium Medium Supports payload drops
Cargo Plane 3+ High Slow Maximum capacity
Helicopter 2 Medium Slow Highest maneuverability

⚙️ Engines

Engine Fuel Type
Furnace Engine Solid fuel (coal, wood etc.)
Liquid Engine Lava, TFMG fuels and more
Electric Engine Forge Energy / Redstone Flux

Control throttle and engine state with the ↑ ↓ arrow keys.

🔧 Upgrades

All aircraft:

  • Floaty Bedding — allows floating on water
  • Booster — increases maximum throttle
  • Armor — enchantable with Protection, Bullet Proof and more
  • Folding Upgrade — instantly returns aircraft to inventory on dismount
  • Additional Seats — adds two extra passenger seats
  • Shooter — fires arrows, fire charges and CGM ammo
  • Banner — decorative

Planes only:

  • Solar Panel — charges the electric engine

Large Planes & Helicopters:

  • Chest — including Iron Chests support
  • Supply Crate — droppable mid-flight
  • TNT — droppable mid-flight
  • Jukebox — because why not

💥 Dynamic Crash Physics (Fork Feature)

Crashes are no longer a fixed explosion. The system evaluates multiple physical factors in real time:

severity = (impact_speed × speed_factor) + (crash_damage × damage_factor)

Explosion power is then derived using progressive threshold escalation:

Crash Type Result
Low speed crash Small explosion
Steep dive impact Large explosion
High-speed wall collision Very powerful explosion
Extreme velocity crash Massive explosion

Particle effects, flame and smoke intensity all scale with explosion power.

🔥 Dynamic Explosion System (Fork Feature)

  • Velocity-aware collision detection
  • Dynamic explosion strength scaling
  • Progressive severity thresholds
  • Physics-aware crash simulation
  • More cinematic and impactful crash feedback

⛽ Extended Fuel Compatibility (Fork Feature)

The liquid engine now accepts fuels from The Factory Must Grow (TFMG):

  • tfmg:gasoline — Gasoline
  • tfmg:kerosene — Kerosene
  • tfmg:diesel — Diesel

💣 Payload Compatibility (Fork Feature)

Ballistix payloads are supported:

  • Obsidian, Incendiary, Chemical, Debilitation
  • Fragmentation, Thermobaric, Endothermic
  • Exothermic, Rejuvination, Nuclear

Alex's Caves payload:

  • alexscaves:nuclear_bomb

Payloads influence crash behavior and explosion strength directly.

🪵 Material Support

Aircraft can be crafted from any wood type, including modded ones. Use Nether planks to make your aircraft fireproof.

📦 Requirements

Minecraft 1.20.1
