About this project

What does Realistic Takeoff [IA] add?

Realistic Takeoff [IA]

Adds aircraft-dependent runway acceleration, rotation and initial-climb handling to Immersive Aircraft.

New in 0.0.10: Correct aircraft resting angles and improved Realistic Landing compatibility.

Features

  • Progressive runway acceleration and rotation based on aircraft performance, load and surface conditions.
  • Quicker compatible fighter run-up, with extra allowance for active native afterburners.
  • Smooth commanded rotation through wheel separation and the initial climb.
  • Preserves each aircraft's native parked and taxi resting angle.
  • Normal low-power W/S movement, following Realistic Landing's movement boundary when both addons are enabled.
  • Warnings and one compact contextual display that combines with updated Homing Missiles and Realistic Landing. Each addon also works on its own.

Controls & Settings

Use normal Immersive Aircraft controls: apply power, build speed and gently raise the nose. Standalone W/S ground movement remains available below 30% selected throttle; with Realistic Landing 0.0.9 enabled, its 15% threshold applies. Idle and engine-off movement remain available. No brake key or takeoff autopilot is added.

Detailed training feedback is optional. Bind Toggle takeoff training details in Controls to enable it. Settings remain in config/realistic-takeoff.properties. Hiding the display does not mute warning sounds.

Installation

  • Forge 1.20.1: requires Immersive Aircraft 1.5.0.
  • Fabric / NeoForge 1.21.1: supports Immersive Aircraft 1.6.0 and 1.7.0. Fabric also requires Fabric API.

Install matching files on client and server. Remove older Realistic Takeoff JARs, including test builds, and restart Minecraft. Other addons are optional. Realistic Landing supplies the separate descent and landing-roll assistance.
