About this project

What does OverCreate add?

Overgeared x Create
Bridges recipes

More in depth description:

Overcreate

Automate Overgeared with Create.

Overcreate is a recipe bridge that lets Create's machines make and process Overgeared's materials. Build a fully automated, belt-driven smithing factory — melt ore to molten metal, cast tool heads, press plates, and even recycle your sub-par tools back into raw material to feed the line again. A complete closed loop.

The name is a merge of the two mods it joins together.

What it does

Overgeared turns smithing into a hands-on minigame at the anvil. Great for a few tools — but if you want hundreds of steel plates, Overcreate hands the repetitive work to Create's machines.

84 recipes across 8 stages, each one mapped from Overgeared's own production chain onto the matching Create machine:

Stage Create machine What it does
Melt Heated Basin (Mixer) Copper / iron / gold ingots → molten metal fluid
Heat Heated Basin (Mixer) Metal + coal → heated ingot (the forge-heat step)
Alloy Heated Basin (Mixer) Iron + coal → crude steel; scrap + gold → netherite alloy
Press Mechanical Press Ingots → plates, heated metal → tool heads
Cool Encased Fan + Water Heated metal → finished metal (quench it as it moves)
Cast Spout (Filling) Molten metal + clay cast → tool head
Grind Millstone Diamond → diamond shard
Recycle Crushing Wheels Any Overgeared tool or part → nuggets

The closed loop

The whole point: your factory feeds itself.

Ore → molten metal → cast into tool heads → assemble tools. Forged something sub-par? Toss it into the Crushing Wheels and it breaks down into nuggets — remelt them and pour them back into the line. Nothing wasted. A self-sustaining metalworking factory that runs on Create belts.

Good to know

  • Heat is a resource. Overgeared's heated items cool down over time — if your line backs up, hot metal reverts to cold. Keep it moving! (This is intended — it makes automation a real design challenge, not a set-and-forget.)
  • Melting vs. heating. A bare ingot in a heated basin melts to fluid. Add coal and it heats to a hot ingot instead — the fuel is what tells the two apart.
  • Automation has a small tax. The Create alloy path yields slightly less than hand-forging (3 crude steel vs. 4), and Create casting consumes the clay cast each pour. Fair trade for full automation.
  • Casting runs through Create's fluids, not Overgeared's furnace — so it uses the molten metals from Create: Liquid Mineral. (Overgeared's own casting furnace still works as normal alongside this.
