Where it goes
Is DoxEffect (TaCZ Recommendation) required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does DoxEffect (TaCZ Recommendation) doxeffect-2.0.0.jar need?
doxeffect-2.0.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install DoxCore first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does DoxEffect (TaCZ Recommendation) add?
Short description
A shared **status-effect system** the Dox mods build on. Sources apply typed debuffs — movement/attack slowness, weapon spread, recoil, view tremor — each with a magnitude and duration; consumers read the effective value (or it's applied as an attribute). Multiple sources **stack correctly** (attribute effects multiply, query effects sum). Active effects mirror to **vanilla effect icons**, and a **/effect bridge** lets vanilla commands / other plugins trigger the real effect. Installed because another Dox mod requires it.
What it provides
**Typed effects** —
MOVE_SLOW,ATTACK_SLOW(attribute-based),GUN_SPREAD,GUN_RECOIL,VIEW_TREMOR(query-based, client-synced).**Source stacking** — e.g. "healing −50%" and "broken leg −35%" combine; each source can be updated or cleared independently.
**Timed or indefinite** — duration ticks, or state-driven (a source refreshes/removes it).
**Vanilla icon mirroring** + **
/effectbridge** — give the display MobEffect via vanilla and it becomes the real effect.**Client sync** for visual effects (recoil/tremor) — only the local player's effective value is streamed.
**Silence guard** — while the effect is active, chat and voice transmission are blocked.
**Arm-state debuffs** — an arm's condition feeds gun spread, recoil and view sway for mods that read those values (DoxAmmo does).
**Translated into 20 languages.**
Minecraft versions
This mod ships two lines, and they are not interchangeable:
**1.x** — Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge
**2.x** — Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge
Both are maintained. Pick the file whose major version matches your loader; a 1.x file will simply not load on 1.21.1, and vice versa. Dependencies follow the same rule — 2.x mods require 2.x of the Dox mods they depend on.
Requirements
- **DoxCore** (required, matching version line). Does nothing visible on its own — a shared system used by other Dox mods.
For modders
DoxEffectManager.apply(player, source, type, magnitude, durationTicks)/applyBatch/clearSource.DoxEffectManager.magnitude(player, type)— read effective query value (spread/recoil/tremor).ClientEffects.recoil/ClientEffects.tremor— client-side synced values for render code.
Known issue
The **deafened** and **silenced** effects have no icon texture yet, so they show as a missing-texture square in the effect list. Cosmetic only — not a crash.
