About this project
What does Brilliant Text Remixin add?
Brilliant Text Remixin
Brilliant Text Remixin is a compatibility- and stability-focused remix of Brilliant Text for Minecraft 1.12.2.
It retains the original gold (§g), silver (§s), bronze (§q) and flame (§v) text effects while improving formatting behavior, rendering compatibility and crash resistance.
Changes from the original mod
- Replaced the required FermiumBooter dependency with MixinBooter.
- Added optional integration with Smooth Font.
- Compatibility is enabled automatically when Smooth Font is loaded.
- Correctly handles Smooth Font's physical-resolution framebuffer and glyph sampling.
- Added support for multiple Brilliant Text effects in the same line:
§gGold §sSilver§gGold §qBronze §vFlame
- Improved interaction with vanilla formatting codes:
- Vanilla color codes and
§rnow correctly end the active Brilliant Text effect. - Another Brilliant Text code can enable a new effect later in the same line.
- Vanilla style codes such as bold and italic can still be combined with Brilliant Text.
- Example:
§gGold §6Vanilla Gold §sSilver - Example:
§vFlame §gGold §rNormal
- Vanilla color codes and
- Fixed effects incorrectly covering the entire line instead of only their intended text section.
- Fixed framebuffer sizing when switching between windowed and fullscreen modes.
- Fixed rendering after changing only one window dimension.
- Fixed framebuffer updates on menus, where world-render events are unavailable.
- Improved shader boundaries to prevent effects from bleeding into adjacent text.
- Improved the flame shader's text coloring, outline and transparent background behavior.
- Fixed crashes caused by zero-width text regions, such as a standalone
§g. - Fixed particle-related crashes when no world is loaded, including rendering on the main menu.
- Added additional validation for invalid particle rarity and empty rendering regions.
Formatting behavior
The first Brilliant Text code must still appear at the beginning of the line, although vanilla formatting codes and whitespace may appear before it.
Hello §gMinecraft is still unsupported.
After the first Brilliant Text effect has started, later Brilliant Text codes, vanilla color codes and §r may be used to divide the line into independently rendered sections.
