About this project

What does Nearby Delight add?

Nearby Delight

Requires Farmer's Delight to work.

Built for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).

Nearby Delight is a Farmer's Delight add-on that allows Cooking Pots to use ingredients stored in nearby chests and containers.

Instead of manually moving ingredients into the Cooking Pot, simply open the recipe book and select a recipe. The Cooking Pot will automatically search nearby storage for the required ingredients and use them for cooking.

✨ Features

  • Automatically pulls ingredients from nearby chests and containers.
  • JEI recipe transfer support.
  • Configurable search radius.

🔗 Compatibility

  • Compatible with popular Farmer's Delight add-ons and storage-related mods.
  • Compatible with Sophisticated Backpacks when backpacks are placed in the world and used as storage containers.

📖 How to Use

  1. Place a Cooking Pot.
  2. Put ingredients in nearby storage.
  3. Select a recipe.
  4. Cook.

⚙️ Configuration

The search radius can be configured in the config file.

Example

# Range: 1 ~ 16
searchRadius = 5 #default

A lower radius may improve performance, while a higher radius lets Cooking Pots access ingredients from farther away.

⚠️ Known Limitations

  • Recipe highlighting is only updated when the Cooking Pot is opened. If nearby storage changes, close and reopen the Cooking Pot to refresh it.
  • Sophisticated Backpacks are only supported when placed in the world. Backpacks in a player's inventory or backpack slot are not accessible.
  • Cinnamon Cabinets from Expanded Delight are not currently supported as nearby storage containers.

🚀 Planned Features

  • Possible EMI support (not guaranteed).
  • Possible Fabric support (not guaranteed).
