About this project

What does LowDragLib2 - Forge (Unofficial Port) add?

This is an unofficial Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge port of LowDragLib2, maintained by weiliangyan.

LDLib2 is a base library for mod developers (not a content mod for players), providing:

  • In-game UI framework: components, layout, styles, XML UI, data binding and events
  • In-game editor: resource manager, inspector panel, UI template editing, preview and save
  • Rendering tools: GUI textures, model/scene rendering, shader wrappers
  • Sync & persistence: NBT, Codec, field sync, RPC, network packets
  • Resource system: color, texture, UI template and renderer resource loading/editing
  • Ecosystem compatibility: JEI, REI, EMI, KubeJS and more

**Requirements**

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Forge: 47.4.10 (or any 47.x)
  • Java: 17+
  • Required dependency: Kotlin for Forge

**Installation**
Put the built -all.jar into the mods folder on both client and server. When used on a multiplayer server, the client and server must run the same version, otherwise network channel mismatch or connection failures may occur.

**In-game editor**
Players with OP permission can run /ldlib2_ui_editor on the server to open the UI editor, used for developing and debugging UI templates (not a player menu). It supports creating/editing XML UI, managing resources, adjusting element properties in the inspector panel, and saving UI templates.

**Open source notice**
This project is a port and compatibility maintenance based on LowDragLib2, not an official release by the original author.
